The Wakawafu Award

image

I hear what you might be saying…
“What on earth is that??” I asked the same thing initially!
Never heard of this one so had to make sure this was formally accepted, and properly!!
So, thank you heaps, to Sandra, of A Momma’s View, for considering, and nominating me for this award!

What is it?
This is quoted directly from the award creator, Wakawafu…

“The idea behind this award is to motivate other fellow bloggers and to act as a token of appreciation- just as we ourselves felt motivated and really felt good about what we do. It is a small gesture that we hope goes a long way. One other thing we will be doing however, when the award is awarded, we will be posting a link to the nominated blog on our own website, so that people can actually find these blogs. I feel that there are so many awesome people to chat with who are blogging too and it can be hard to find people easily, so I hope through this people who want to find new bloggers can do so more easily- just comment on the Wakuwafu award page when you receive it and we will put up a a link to your blog. The rules of the blog won’t be too long, but they will let you get to know one another more!”

What a lovely idea!

Here are the rules:

* Thank the person who has nominated you and provide a link to their blog. ✔
* Choose any 3 things you would like to say about yourself to your fellow bloggers. ✔
* Answer the 3 questions set by your nominator.✔
* Think up 3 questions you would like to ask the people you nominate. ✔
* Give one piece of advice to your fellow bloggers. ✔

So, I’ve given my heartfelt thanks…
On to 3 things about me…

1) I’m a firm believer in looking after yourself, so you are fit and well, and happy in yourself. Only then are you capable of helping and looking after others. Hence I am writing this post at the Nail Shop, being pampered!!
2) OMG!!! This morning I found my FIRST white Eyelash!!!!!!! 40! What are you doing to me??!!
3) Shhh.. Don’t tell anyone but I might just be getting into Football… Now I have a goal scoring son!!!

And now the 3 questions I was set to answer…

Your favorite home cooked meal?
What makes it so special?

A good wholesome roast dinner! Yes I know I’m Indian, but I’ve always loved a roast… More than a curry! It’s filling and just YUM!!!

Camping or hotel? Why?

Hotel, for sure!!!!! I think that if I am going away, I want pampering, not slumming it!

If you’d win in the lottery, what’s the first thing you’d do?

Pay off our mortgage, so we are free of the bidmggest debt, then we can do good after!

My Nominations…
Have to be my Blogily siblings!
Big sis Judy of Edwinas Episodes
Big sis Erika of Erika Kind
Big bro Rich of Wafflemethis

And your questions…
1) What do you prefer to write? Fiction or poetry?
2) Family or Friends?
3) What place do pets have in your life?

And finally, my advice to bloggers…
Please never let your blogging become a chore, stay true to yourself, and enjoy your whole experience! WordPress can be a wonderful place… Let it stay that fun place, not somewhere you feel you HAVE to come to… That’s a surefire way to kill your creativity!

But I Smile Anyway...

Versatilio!!!!!

Goodness gracious another award nomination!

This time Hellaturnup of the blog Rogue Bogue nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award! Wow!!! Thank you so much! I am touched!!!

The Rules

1. Thank the person who nominated you.

2. Include a link to their blog.

3. Pick bloggers/blogs that you have recently discovered or regularly follow.

4. Nominate them for Versatile Blogger Award.

5. Share 7 facts about yourself

7 (more) facts about me…

  1. I really don’t do sports! I come from a very sporty family, my dad played hockey, and was a record holder at his school and university for high jump! My mum loved tennis, and played lacrosse at school.  My brother was a cricketer and hockey player for Warwickshire before he got injured, and he still plays cricket in Helsinki! But me, no, the sports interest gene just bypassed me!  Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t all that bad at things at school, I had a flair for netball, hockey, tennis and badminton, I love swimming, I just didn’t have the passion for it, like my brother! I had no interest in playing for a team, preferring to curl up with a book!
  2. I love talking, and talking… I could talk for England, which is why this blog is such a great thing for me! I can virtually blabber on and on, and no one really has to listen, but I have said my piece, so I am happy too!
  3. I hate arguments. I really can’t sleep on it… I have do sort things out before bedtime. I’d rather do that and start fresh the next day.  If things linger for longer than that, it really affects me negatively. You all know my positivity, but if I can’t sort something out with someone, if there is a problem, then it eats away at me until I know things are ok…
  4. I used to have a pet stick insect! Wow! You say. How interesting! Really? No, it wasn’t interesting at all!
  5. I am in the midst of an addiction to Thornton’s Special Toffee! Great for my taste buds, not so good for my teeth and waist line!
  6. I passed my driving test on the 4th go! 2 weeks before I got married… I’m sure the examiner felt sorry for me… I told him how far I was going from my parents, and that the train or coach journey was so bad that having a license and car would be the biggest wedding present for me… and guess what? I passed!
  7. I have climbed Dunns River Falls in Jamaica!  Woohoo! Go Me!!!!!

My Nominees
