Thank you Judy, for a new challenge!
A Momma’s View has set a challenge and prompt that she had nominated me, and a few others for. In it, she asks for us to say what we think our purpose in life is and what we’ll take home when we leave.
Judy has kindly passed this on to me and a few others… I hope I do it justice! 🙂
I think trying to define our purpose in life as a young person, is actually very hard. Your own thinking changes so much, and your perspective.
Your younger self may feel that they are able to conquer the world, change everything of importance. You don’t realise just what certain things actually require, to happen! Then as you get older, you start to realise that you are actually a very tiny piece in this huge world, and that sometimes the grand ideas and dreams you might have had, scale down to a realistic level, and your own thought, for your purpose in life, changes to suit your life, and those around you.
I don’t think I have ever thought of this before, and I’m not sure that I was ever that selfless, to think of what my purpose in life was before, as a youngster. As long as I was happy, and had what I needed around me, and that I wasn’t hurting anyone else, I was chugging along. But slowly, as my life has moved on, I have realised that I do need a purpose in life.
And now, I sit here, and know that my purpose in life is to make sure that I am a good role model to my own children, so that I send forth good human beings into this world. Heaven knows, we don’t need any more bad ones!
My purpose in life is to keep my husband, parents and family happy. To do everything in my capability to not hurt them, or disappoint them, but to be able to fulfil their needs.
My purpose in life is to educate children in my classes, to make a difference in their lives. To ignite a passion for learning, that they hopefully take forth with them, throughout their life.
My purpose in life is to make you smile. To make you look into your own lives and realise that “Hey, it’s not all bad out there!”
What will I take home, when I leave?
I will take with me, a lot of love. Love I have received from family and friends, near and far, and the knowledge that I am loved. And I will take with me, hope. A hope that this world will slowly become a better place, and that the children I leave behind will continue to make people happy too…
I open this challenge to all my followers. Have a little think, and write a post about what you think the purpose of your life is, and what you wish to take from life, when you leave…

Firstly I am linking back to Asil’s blog, who started this crazy challenge!
Now to say erm… good grief! That’s to Sophie of Sophie Speaks Up for sending me this challenge!
Again, here are the rules:

2) By reading this you are already signed up.

Here goes!
I walk so far I am so bound to hit a wall soon. it won’t stop, this road to God knows… All I know is that I want to stop. My limbs hurt, I want to drop, stand stock still, but I can’t. I must just go…on and on and on….until I can’t go on… and drop…

Another day, another challenge!!!
This time the lovely, extremely funny, and sometimes saucy Rob of The V-Pub challenged me to one I haven’t done before!
In this challenge, I have to list ten things that I love and then ten things that I hate. Then, I’ll nominate 10 bloggers to do the same. Here goes:
Ten things I love
Ten things I hate – Hate is a strong word, I really don’t hate an awful lot of things, so I know this will be a toughie!
Wow! That was actually really hard! I have to say, I really don’t HATE things in this respect… don’t like, yes, but HATE? Strong word, hate…. But still, I tried!
I challenge…

This time I was challenged by Author SBMazing to this awesome freestyle writing challenge.
Here are the rules to the challenge:
1. Open a blank Document
2. Set a stop watch or your mobile phone timer to 5 or 10 minutes, whichever challenge you prefer.
3. Your topic is at the foot of this post BUT DO NOT SCROLL DOWN TO SEE IT UNTIL YOU ARE READY WITH YOUR TIMER!!!
4. Once you start writing do not stop until the alarm sounds!
5. Do not cheat by going back and correcting spelling and grammar using spell check (it is only meant for you to reflect on your own control of sensible thought flow and for you to reflect on your ability to write with correct spelling and grammar.)
6. You may or may not pay attention to punctuation or capitals.
7. At the end of your post write down ‘No. of words = ____” to give an idea of how much you can write within the time frame.
8. Do not forget to copy paste the entire passage on your blog post with a new topic for your nominees and copy paste these rules with your nomination (at least five (5) bloggers)
Ready?
The topic I was given … Sunset
I love a good sunset…
My ideal sunset is sat on a sandy beach, watching the waves lap onto the shore, my loved one beside me, head on his shoulder, and seeing the magnificent sun dip down, lower, and lower as if it is a giant biscuit that is being dunked into the huge cup of tea that is the ocean!
Wow! That sounded a bit poetic, didn’t it!?
I do love a good sunset, the colours, and the peace you feel, if you are in the right place, is unreal.
Something else that also comes to mind when I think of the word sunset is those elderly people who are at the ‘sunset’ of their lives, you know, the tail end. They have seen many days, good and bad. Sunny and rainy. Their dawn was long, long ago, and they have now settled into the blissful retreat that is that sun, slowly going down, after blazing hard all their life long.
And they should be having a peaceful sunset. After all, they’ve worked hard all their lives. But it’s sad to see how many ‘sunsetters’ don’t have the peaceful end to their days nowadays. One big issue is money. So many of them, and I fear, many of us, once we reach the ‘sunset’ of our lives, will find it a struggle to live comfortably, unless there is support for them. A lot of old folk have to sell up their family homes, and go move into nursing homes, or old people’s homes to be cared for, as they can’t afford to keep their own house, and get care there, and the cost of a home is exorbitant too.
And that leads me on to support. How many elderly people actually have support? I mean the support of family? In our community, it is the norm to support your elders, to respect them, and once retirement hits, or they are no longer able to do things for themselves, we step in. The younger generation. There are not many Indian old people in homes, unless it is a health issue and special care is required.
So what do I think? Please support your elders in the sunset of their lives, so they may also see an idyllic end to their days, instead of pain, and suffering.
