Damn! Morning Relapse!

I knew it was too good to be true..

Two nights in a row, with no late night Lil Princess shaped visitor, then came night three, and BAM! There she was again!

Just about managed to rouse her, with the bribe of her school trip today (she is very excited!) but did she eat like a speed train, and is she already changed and ready to go?

Not a chance!

Well, to be honest the last two mornings, though she slept in the correct place, she was still Lady Slow Coach when it came to eating and getting dressed, but the lure of Leeds Castle today was meant to make her

a) stay in her bed
b) make her leap out in the morning
c) encourage her to eat up, nice and quick
d) change like the speed of light

And generally be ready by 8…

So now we had no TV on, no talking, and STILL, she is there, excited, yes, but unable to do two things at once! Wants to talk about the most random things, (she is the Queen of Random!) yet can’t dress at the same time!! I really need to get her initiated into the female are of multitasking ASAP!!

It’s past 8, again, I have time to write a post because of her tardiness, and I have yet to do her hair!!!

Thank God for that morning cuppa, is all I can say!

Happy Thursday, and remember, Friday is only a few hours away!!!!!!!!

So following on from yesterday morning, we have a breakthrough!

Firstly, I slept all night, with no interruptions!!!
Lil Princess stayed in bed, no ‘sleep walking’ (that’s what she calls it anyway, I call it ‘bad habit’!). Then she got up herself, and was downstairs eating her breakfast happily!
It’s only 8.06am and she is nearly changed, that fancy hairstyle might just get a chance today!!

Long may it last! (Though I don’t hold much hope!)

Soooo NOT a Morning Person!

Sat here waiting… Waiting for the Lil Princess to get ready for school…
I’m up before the crack of dawn, rushing around like a blue arsed fly, trying to do lunches, get uniforms and school bags ready, so when the kids descend, it’s a simple process, teeth, breakfast, wash face, change, hair done, coats on, out the door!
Seems like a faultless process… Hmm well it works fantastically for Lil Man, who wakes early anyway, he’s eaten, chances and ready with shoes n coat in half an hour before we need to leave, bless him!
But Her Highness, The Lil Princess… Well it starts with trying to rouse her… From my bed, I’m ashamed to say, but she manages to get in almost every night, while we are fast asleep, and most times I only know, when I wake, and there she is, snuggled up to us!
Well, this is where she is sooooo like her daddy, Hubby Dearest, as I wake her, she’s like “5 minutes, 3 minutes, 1 minute! I just need to streeeeeeetch…..!” After practically dragging her down the steps, and plonking her down its the rigmarole of deciding what to eat… 5 minutes and several whines (by this time, I need wine not whine!) later, it’s decided, then Oh My God, I’m showered, breakfast done, and she still has over half left! 10-15 minutes more of cajoling then maybe, just maybe she’s finished. Then comes the lurching to the bathroom to freshen up! By now she is up and sprightly, but then she CAN’T stop talking!
And, unlike most women, she hasn’t mastered the art of doing more than one thing at a time! As she changes, she pauses to have conversations with me, her brother, the cat, anyone who’s there! I have given strict instructions to everyone not to respond back, but it doesn’t stop her!
With 2.5 minutes to go before we leave, if we’re lucky, she presents herself to me, “A nice hairstyle please mummy!”
REALLY!?!?
A quick scraped back plait, ( her hair is below her bum, I have no time to do more!) and wrapped up, shoes in, finally we’re ready to go!
I’m lucky she still doesn’t really understand time yet! I get her up 20 minutes earlier than I have to, because of this, and still we end up rushing around like headless chickens! Well, I do, she just saunters on…
And on this note, I go to scrape back her hair. Before getting out the door!
See, she takes so long, I have time to write blog posts too!!!!
