Marje at Kyros Majica tagged me in her Question and Answer tag for Writers…

Marje’s questions for me:
- If you met a sexy vampire what would you do? Hook up, get the garlic and crosses out or run a mile?
Errrr… I would admire the view first of all, then get the hell outta there!
- What’s your favourite genre of book and why?
Generally, I like easy reading books, chick lit, romantic books, family sagas, and the odd historical ones. I like to lose myself in books as a method of relaxing so I don’t want to be thinking too much when I read!!! But it still needs to be a storyline I can get my teeth into, and characters who I want to love or hate with a passion!
- Who is/are your favourite author (s) , poet (s)? What is it about them that inspires you?
From quite a young age, I was mesmerised by Virginia Andrews and her Flowers in the Attic and other books. All the twists that her books contained. I could sit and finish books in one sitting! I know she’s a children’s author but Enid Blyton is my other favourite. I am reading her books to my children now, and we love to hear her innocent stories!
- If you had to control a classroom of year 6 kids would you bale, or enjoy the challenge? Would you be (a.) too undisciplined to do so, you’d just join in the general mayhem, (b.) enjoy bossy them around, or (c.) pray in a corner for the bell to sound.Guess which one would be my reply, winners will be mentioned on my blog!
Firstly, I think you may veer towards (a)! Because you know how important it is for kids to be kids!
I would be a mixture of the three! I love teaching, but the younger children are my forte. I dread older kids, as they have far too much to say! So I ‘d probably try to be a bit strict, to get them to listen, dissolve into giggles and join in with their silliness, then hope I get rescued by that bell, or their real teacher asap!
- What made you become a writer/blogger? Do your family support you or do they think you’re crazy, bored, attention seeking, or all of these? Tell us a bit about your current WIP and/or books…
I have always loved to write and as a youngster, I was always penning little stories and rhymes. I started a story many years ago but then life took over so I couldn’t do any more. Blogging, I fell into by accident! I didn’t know what blogging was until a friend of mine started one, and in order to comment, I signed up with WP. Then came the offer to set up my own blog…The rest, as they say, is history…
I am in the closing stages of getting my first poetry book out there, it’s just the cover that is being tweaked. Look out for some promo posts soon! And I have a couple of fiction ideas, simmering, maybe a longer novel, or a short story collection, I just have to see where it takes me!
- What is the most awful job and/or experience you’ve ever done/had?
I think I am lucky to say I have never had a truly awful job. I have enjoyed all I have experienced so far, but then I do tend to find the fun in most things.
The most awful thing I have had to experience was probably having to be there to get my Grandmother in law ready for her funeral. It is traditional for 5 family members to wash, and dress a body ready for their final journey. I have a huge family on my side, so this has never been something I have had to get involved in. But my Hubby Dearest’s family is tiny and very close knit, so I kind of had to be there, to support my Mother in law. That was really tough…
- Are you a plotter or a pantser? Does this spill out onto other parts of your life? Are you generally organised/disorganised?Can you guess what I am?
Pantser definitely, when it comes to writing! I tend to have ideas and then they spill out onto paper, but with regards to life, I am a true Virgo, and I have lists for everything else!
- Do you believe in Ghosts? Fate? Love at First Sight? Fairies? Psychic happenings?Numerology, Mermaids, The Loch Ness Monster, Demons…etc…Make your own observations …. and let me know..
I do have a belief in the spirit world, and love at first sight. I am not sure how much they are true but I like to think that our loved ones are out there, looking down on us and guiding us. I went to see a Medium once, and some of the things she said were pretty amazing…
- What is the worst haircut/clothes/hats you’ve ever had/worn? Photos please, or describe in vivid detail…
I think it wasn’t the clothes or haircut, but my huge glasses that were the worst things I wore as a youngster, before I realised that even frames come in fashionable styles!!!

- Please finish this sentence with more than three extra words: Life is one foot in and one foot out, you ….
Decide whether you want to put that other foot in and really enjoy life, or take the other one out and watch life pass you by…
I know I am supposed to tag 10 writers, but I invite you all to have a go, answer Marj’s questions. It was fun!
