#Blogging 101 Day 5 – if it ain’t broke…

So I had a go.

I looked at the other themes.

I previewed them, but you can’t see your own blog on there, to see if it works.

Then I thought I’d try one, and pressed activate… Yuck!!!

Hated the look and none of my widgets, lovingly created, had transferred over!

I quickly changed it back…Nooooooooooo!

All my personalised widgets! Gone!!!

Phew!

Thank goodness they were all saved, I just had to put them all back in the right order!

See.

I tried.

But, like the old folks say, (and I totally respect my elders!) “If it ain’t broke, why try to fix it?!”

My blog is staying faithful to Koi thank you very much!!

I attempted to change my theme a few times and you could change all sorts of things like you’re going to a dept store and trying on a new outfit, but quick-change back if you decided not to activate it. But the last time I did it, that option wasn’t available anymore so once I previewed it, the only way I could see what my stuff would look like is to activate it like you did. Nothing transferred, like what you experienced. I changed it back then thought that I needed a change, so I kept it. If you have the time, could you hover over to my blog and give me your opinion on my new chosen theme? It was 2010 and now it’s 2015. Quite a time leap if you ask me.

Koi is a nice theme. It was one of the few I considered but I ultimately felt it wasn’t quite ‘my’ blog. I’ve had the same problem with the widgets when I’ve played about. That’s why I only clicked ‘preview’ when I window shopped themes last time.

Very true, I tried a few and I always felt like why do I really want to change my theme and all I figured was I just need to change color and fonts if I want anything new.

I haven’t looked through the themes yet but I’m pretty sure I will keep mine the same too. I only just changed it a little while back anyway. I really like the soft colours and swirls in this one and my previous one was colourful too.
