Sports Week!

Peppa sportsIt’s been a busy week, this week, school life is always crazy for a teacher, and I have been busy with more home visits to some of my new pupils starting in September…. seriously teeny tots, some not even three yet! And a meet and greet session at the nursery for some of them too!

I also had a fantastic course all to do with the Early Years Foundation Stage of education, a refresher for professionals going into this young age group after a while. That was fun, apart from the fact that the venue was exactly on the junction that was closed on the M20, thanks to Operation Stack…(strike action to do with lorry drivers, and stuff…I don’t really understand, but what I do know, is that they are seriously impacting on the lives of many of the locals!) so I had a double journey time to the place… still I got there, and that’s what matters, and we were able to leave earlier too, which was cool, as some others were going to have an awful journey home because of these closures!

And at school it has been Sports Week. Lil Princess had her Sports Day on Monday, and for the first time, I couldn’t be there, but Hubby Dearest was there for her, which was wonderful!

Lil Man had his Sports Day on Thursday, a full on full day of sports, to which again, I couldn’t come, but Hubby Dearest managed to be there for.  He even took part in the Father’s Race, and won! (apparently there was some interesting acrobatics involved in his win too… Lil Man burst into my classroom, to tell me “Daddy won the race and he did somersaults!” Apparently he lost his balance right at the end and  more or less fell, gambolled, got on his feet again, and ended up first!!!! Classic! Oh he won’t live that down! The amount of people, staff, and parents who told me of his ‘impressive’ performance in the race was hilarious!  I wonder if anyone got a video??!! I would pay to see it!

And in my class, I arranged a mini sports day for my two little classes! We had a few games for them to go round in teams to play, and at the end they all got medals, and a certificate that I had created! It was the first time they had done this, so it was lovely! The kids really enjoyed themselves, and were so proud of their medals, as they left nursery, showing them off excitedly to their mummies and daddies as they were picked up!

I do love making those children smile, and be happy! I hope I can carry on doing that too! It kinda makes all the early starts, late finishes at school and late nights worth while!

Your vocation shines through! Kids remember their first teacher so they will probably tell their children about their first medal. Imagine… A future olympian could say it was all down to you! X

That really sounds like a very busy week… and there is so much happiness radiating from your post. It is wonderful to read your words and feel the pride and joy about your family, your work, your students, simply your life. You are an awesome person that’s why you have an awesome life. And your husband simply is another angel next to you. It is wonderful how you support each other.

Sounds like you Hubby did you proud at Lil Man’s sports day! What a lovely idea for you to get your little ones involved with the medals and certificates as well. Their excitement should tell you that you are definitely in the right job! 🙂
