My father in law has always grown tomatoes every year, and this time was no different… We are usually inundated with a glut of cherry tomatoes but this year tomato blight hit!
And he grew chillies, which are apparently very hot! I can’t vouch for that… I’m not a good Indian… I can’t do chilli!
He managed aubergines too this year!
And a single courgette… So far!
Looks like enough for one meal lol!!

Our tomatoes haven’t done much either this year, cucumber is doing well though.
You FIL’s aubergines and courgettes look great as do the cillis, but like you I dom’t do spicy! 🙂

The aubergine looks great. I’d love to have the time to grow things like that but I’m never here. Maybe when I retire☺☺

The farmer that sold me 2 pepper plants told me they were bell peppers…they are long, thin, red and the size of my pinkie finger. I am fearful ! ☺ Although, FYI, as you get older, the hot tastes are more appealing for some reason. go figure…

We have chile in our garden 🙂 They’re extremely hot! That’s all that grows here! Lol. We tried other things and they didn’t grow. We have flowers too but no other foods or vegetables grow much here.

Good for him!
I tried tomatoes, bell peppers and cabbage. So far only the tomatoes are growing and one cabbage. Don’t know if they’ll bear before the summer disappears. Well see…

You know, it used to be all grass, then dad concreted it all up, apart from a small square of grass, so he could park a car at the back! So all his growing is in large pots!

The weather has been so strange this summer, scorching before we finished school, and the holidays have seen all sorts, from torrential rain and hailstorms, to sun… Poor plants is all I’ll say, they don’t know if they’re coming or going!
