Friday Funny

kids_catsThis one is for my Lil Princess, who at 7, is STILL stealthily sneaking into our bed in the middle of the night!

I am so shattered, I don’t even realise until I wake sometimes, but Hubby Dearest is a much lighter sleeper, and he ends up suffering the brunt of the Awkward Child Sleeping Positions!

Before you act horrified, we have tried so many things, walking her back to her room, laying with her, reward and incentives, taking things away, nothing works! And being as tired as we are, we can’t keep up the walking back thing… she’s a stubborn child, she just comes back!

I think we have had 2 full nights in her own bed in the last 3 weeks!

So from a tired Ritu, have a fun-filled, frolicsome Friday Peeps!

I love it…I remember my little girl she was around 4 or 5….like to come in and get into bed with us, well we also had a golden retriever who always snuck up on the foot of the bed in the middle of the night…you would wake up with your feet stuck in the blankets and something very heavy holding them down…LOL well my daughter came in and laid across the foot of the bed, we had also been working on getting her to stay in her own bed, well I thought it was the dog, so I pushed on it and it fell onto the flood, the thus woke me up as the dog never made a thud, it generally just leapt of the bed at my first little push…I had kicked my daughter off the foot of the bed…LOL from then on she stayed in her own bed….LOL I felt horrible. She was not hurt, barely woke up….I love how blog post help us remember stories from our past….and know I wish she slept with us every night back then, as she is 38 and I will never have that back again….kathy

Maybe I need to try that… and shock her into staying in her ‘safer’ bed lol! Great story! Thanks for reading and commenting!
I’m glad I could bring some memories back for you !

Yep, my daughter was 11 when she stopped. Nothing we could do except buy a bigger bed. Why do they sleep sideways, though? I had to develop prehensile buttocks to grip the edge of the bed if I didn’t want to fall to the floor.

Later night hubby resorted to the sofa as it wasn’t just positional juggling, but she’s not too well, and has been coughing loads in the day and night…. It’s been a pleasant night… 😳
And today me and my princess travel to Birmingham as I have my schoo, reunion. She’s spending the evening with her grand dad, my pops, who in retirement became a yoga teacher and all round natural remedy guru… I’m sure he’ll be trying all sorts of things, like reiki and different pressure points on her to help her! Though nothing seems to help the sleeping situation…!

I hope grandpa works the Oracle as my dad would say. Have a good time and remember the glass of water before bed…

I am hoping for the Oracle to be working too…
And alas, I am driving, so aside from a cheeky spritzer, I don’t think I will be indulging.. not think, I won’t be! No drink driving here! 🙂 Thank you!

Oh I do feel for you Ritu. I am hopeless when sleep deprived! I hope this stage soon passes for Lil Princess.

We just got my, almost 8 year old daughter, back into her own bed. But I had a different outlook on it. See, they are only little for so long. Pretty soon they won’t want to come into your bed. :/ So I let mine stay until she was ready to leave.
However, it is LOVELY having the bed all to ourselves again!! 🙂

I almost don’t dare to say it but my middle son came to us until the age of almost 12… I was green and blue at times. His elbows stuck into my back or I got a slap into my face when he stretched……. and remained that way…

Somehow my son skipped that stage. Thankful since my wife manages to take up 75% of the bed. Guess there’s no reasoning with a 7-year-old.

My kids only did that a few times…we were fortunate. It was usually when they were frightened over a movie, and also when we lived in a 200 yr. old house that the neighbors told them was haunted. Yikes.
