It’s bad enough that we have had the issues with Hotpoint and the Washer and Dryer units, but on Saturday, we faced another problem!
There I was, innocently switching the tap (faucet, for our over the Atlantic readers!) on so I could get some washing up done, and I felt a click. I carried on washing, then as I turned the tap off, this carried on… not a drip drip drip, as the title suggests, but a full on run!
Great! All we needed was another issue in the kitchen!
Could I get in touch with the plumber? Nope!
It was 3 days before our guy could come over, so we were armed with a new tap, and the cupboards under were emptied, but oh my, the mess! You see, we hadn’t realised before, but one of our plug holes had also come loose from the sink, so the excess water was dripping down this hole, and then dripping into my under the sink cupboard!
Well, actually, I lie… I knew about the plug hole issue, but as it was a secondary one, the ‘half’ part of our ‘one and a half’ sink units, I never used it. Today though, Hubby dearest swung the tap round, to drip into there, and ended up nearly flooding the kitchen! Not his fault, he wasn’t aware of the issue!
Anyway, we were waiting for our plumber, who wasn’t sure if he would be able to make it, even today, so we called the Home Insurance guys, and they offered to send someone, as it was free via our policy. We got a call from the insurance company, their guy was 10 minutes away, and then the bell rang, and our original plumber turned up!
Cancelled the insurance one, and our lovely plumber saved the day! Leak sorted + tap replaced = dry kitchen sink! Yay!!!!!

My nice, shiny, new, non-dripping tap!
Love a good family plumber!

I had sink trouble almost as soon as we moved here and again over THE HOLIDAYS! Oh the horror! With a family, there’s just no time for that! Glad it’s resolved 🙂

My mom always told my two sisters and I growing up that one of us should marry a plumber, one an electrician, and one a car mechanic. None of us listened. Now we’re “paying” for it! 😉 Glad you drippy situation was resolved!

Dripping faucets are one of the worst things about home and apartment ownership. They’re deceptively destructive and you might not notice them right away. Glad your problem got fixed.

Thanks Tonya, we were lucky in the end, but it was a nightmare, when we had all the other stuff still hanging over our heads, to have this happen at the same time! Still, at least it’s fixed!

I’m so relieved for you that it worked out in the end. You’re right. Stress starts to build when there is an accumulation of worries staring at you. Hopefully, this is the end of household concerns for a while. Thinking of you! 🙂 xo
