The prompt word – Apparent or A Parent
My thoughts….
A Parent
Apparently I’m a parent
I should show you what to do
Apparently I’m a parent
A good example to youFrom the early years of food and poops
And sleeping in your bed
Through school and education
Show you how to use your headI should teach you how to talk
And always speak with respect
Think of what you want to do
And teach you how to reflectBe there to support you
To lift you when you fall
To always show compassion
And do good to allBut sometimes I may slip a little
And not be all the above
Yet still I’ll try and guide you
With lots of mummy loveApparently I’m a parent
I should show you what to do
Apparently I’m a parent
A good example to youRitu 2016

This is a very lovely poem. Captures the human essence of parenting. Trying your best even if you are not perfect at it. I like this 🙂

We put our parents on pedestals for a while, until something happens to remind us that they’re as fallible as we are. I think that’s when the real relationship begins. Lovely poem!

This is most beautiful, Sis! All the mummy love in those lines but also the fact that you are human. How lovely for Mother’s Day as a message of love for your children!

Oh yes, that’s right, I forgot! You are right. It is not about how the day is labeled!

Lovely post Ritu… Talk with respect is a difficult thing to do when kids are being naughty but I try my best😀

It is the hardest as they get older too, and can drive you to distraction with their lip!!! 😊
Thanks Shivangi! ☺
