Haiku Hub Floating Challenge #1 – Heritage – A Round Up!

Well hello all you Haiku enthusiasts (and those who aren’t, but read all my posts anyway)!

It has been a week already since I hosted the first of a monthly event sparked by TJ and his Haiku Hub idea.

I posted a photo…(taken in Shorne Woods Country Park)

20160807_151437And gave you a word prompt too –

Then asked you to do your best with either/both of the prompts for haiku that you were inspired to write.

Can I just say thanks to all who submitted an entry, it was fantastic to see the response, seeing as this was the first time I ever hosted a challenge like this!

So, here is a list of all those Hubbers who entered!

First in, Judy with her take, based on family momentos

Haiku Hub Floating Challenge #1

The Lady Lee Manilla with a beautiful take based around her son’s wedding, and an inherited gift

Next one in from The Poetry Channel.. very lyrical!

Annette gave us a duo of haiku about mixed heritage and the family that follows

We then had Floridaborne with a thought provoking haiku contemplating nature

Sue Vincent’s entry which made me ponder on the ‘fruits’ we bear
Heritage #midnighthaiku

And Rivrvlogr with a piece that echoes thought about inherant heritage

I just loved TJ’s entry, with it;’s own cute photo to go with it!

Sonder Stories came next with a haiku tale about how our heritage is deep-rooted

Two for the price of one from On The Land!

And Olga, celebrating Ukranian roots!

Thank you again to all who entered, and for allowing me to be host #1!

Let’s see what next month’s challenge is!
