That Smug Feeling…

I’m finally on holiday.

And ended up with the typical teacher response to a week off.

I promptly fell ill. Woke up this morning with a streaming nose, earache and a difficulty swallowing – and that is AFTER having the flu jab the other week!

Still, things need doing and I grocery shopped and started a big clean of the house – need it to be spick and span before my bestie comes to stay with her little baby in the week!

And it has been hinted at that I need to knuckle down and finish my teenage WIP too! (you know who you are… Sacha, His Geoffleship, Lucy, Gary...)

Since the end of August, which was my #RiNoWriMo, self-imposed writing challenge to get my WIP back off the ground, I haven’t had the time or energy to look at it.

I have a week off, but there are not many days where I am totally free and able to lose myself in my words again, but still, if I can draw the story closer to the end, it would be a bonus.

I sat here and thought… and couldn’t remember what I had ended on. Honestly, after a month of writing, and over 50,000 words written, my brain was near mush!

So today I read the last couple of chapters and, (can I say so myself?) I was pretty pleased with what I read back! I really want to finish this first draft. I want to be able to post

here there and everywhere, but for that, I need time again! So I shall try to carve out a few hours again to craft some more words, and hopefully, I will be closer to that announcement post!

I’m off again to bury myself under my duvet… catch you all soon Peeps!

Typical. Why is it we always fall ill when we are on holiday or taking a break… maybe because we let our guard down?

Nothing worse than getting sick on vacation. Hope you’re on the mend, Ritu.

Oh I hate to say it, but I suspected this when you had that headache and your leave was coming. This or the monthly, I just knew it lol — bet you did too.
That being said, I hope that you can enjoy your time with family and bestie and whatever else you do 🙂 Try to take it as easy as you can!

So sorry that you are ill, Ritu. I found that when I worked with small children I also got a lot of colds and flu.

    Get well soon, Ritu 🙂
You are right, when others think that teachers will have vacation, then it is illness time so very often.

I know that feeling everytime you stop working all manner of nasties happen. It the body’s way of telling you that you have over done things!
Try not to over do things, have a break and some fun I will deal with the pushers, you have told me who they are. 💜🥀🥀🥀🥀🌹🌹

Moi?? have I so much as #cough umm, errr… hinted at such things like “Get it sorted Ritu”? Would I dare to presume that it will be done before the end of term, maybe… or… I have a challenge for you.

If it is not completed before the NaNo Camp in the New Year (March I think) join me and we will both finish a project on that. Word Count is up to the writer so you can make one to fit available time. Either way we both have a novel to complete, so do it before then or the challenge is laid down….which is a crap threat as it means I have to flipping finish mine too! Hmm, that’s a really bad challenge on reflection !

I am sorry, you are ill, sis. This happens likel when the body feels a relaxation from the need to function. I hope you take the time whenever you can to take the chance that you don’t need to go to school and recover soon. 💖

You have a week off? Seems like you are busier than normal work days. Take rest and get well soon (unless you are planning on taking revenge on the little rascals who may have given you the bug in the first place😊).
