#SoCS September 22/18 – Flour/Flower

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “flower/flour.” Use one, use both, it’s totally up to you. Enjoy!

Yes… this will definitely be a SoCS post today, rambling about Linda’s prompt!

If you recall (though you may not, as I know the Life of Ritu isn’t the most important thing in your life!), I was going to be walking a half marathon for the charity, Cancer Research UK in September.

Well, that day has arrived… today! And I shall be attempting my 13.1 miles walking the Shine Walk through Central London, with the wind and rain howling… and my six girls from my Tootie Frootie posse will be by my side!

You know a proper post will follow when I get the feeling back in my legs etc…!

I can pretty much guarantee that by the end I won’t be blooming like a spring-time flower, but more like a wilted stem from a 3-week old cut flower arrangement!

(See what I did there? Included flower!)

What will I do to celebrate the end (if I make it)?

Eat cake, chocolate, ice cream… anything I dang well like!

It’s been a long haul recently, trying to avoid all flour based carby foods, and I shall continue after, but I think after the walk, I’ll deserve a doughnut or ten! And if a greasy fry-up is in order the next morning, it wouldn’t be complete without a nice slice of buttered toast!

Okay, I need to go and sort myself out now!

    Good luck!! (Although by now you might be partway through or even done? Can’t tell these time things anymore.) I’m walking a measly mile today for a local Alzheimer’s Walk — yours is way more impressive, but good causes and all.

      Ha no..it’s a night walk starting at 7.30pm so were nowhere near starting yet. It’s 12.10pm here… Still. While to go!

    It is definitely not the worst thing to prepare for a marathon since you eat and live healthily… another proof that “the journey is the reward”. Best wishes for tonight, sis!
