#Blogmas2018 Ritu’s Blog Tips #16

Day 16

My muse, my tea my workstation!

Join blogging groups on Facebook.

I had underestimated the power of a group of bloggers behind you, but around two years ago, I was convinced to join a Blogging group on Facebook.

There were daily opportunities to share your work, with specific reasons, from sharing others posts, to commenting on them, and even a day where a specific blogger was showcased.

My stats rocketed, and there was a whole load of advice available on tap. I didn’t feel like I was asking silly questions.

But… (there’s always a but) try to look into groups which don’t have thousands of members, unless you are ready for reginemted sharing policies.

Since then, the group I had joined, closed, but the members had formed a closeknit group and three or four others set up their own similar groups to carry the momentum on.

It can be time consuming, but you can choose when you want to interact.

The main stipulation is that you should share/comment on a mimimun of 2-4 other particicipants posts.

I try to visit all posts on the threads I am involved in.

By joining a blogging group, you will find yourself exposed to a whole host of blogs you wouldn’t have known existed, and others will find you. It’s a win win situation, as long as you are able to give the time to sharing!

I like this idea! I’m on a few groups on fb but I haven’t really done anything with them! Must try now!

Never realized these groups can help one’s stats.

I still think of that Facebook group where I met you and so many others.

I’m glad you’ve found FB blogging groups useful too. I’ve joined a couple, and given up on one or two, but the ones that are good are great because you can share far more, learn from others, ask questions, find a supportive community and new opportunities etc. Great tip! 🙂

Blogging groups are fun, Ritu. I limit the number I join though.

I am a part of two writing groups and I trying to find the time to keep up with them. It is great in sharing and getting feedback from all over. Fun too!!

I agree, I have underestimated the use too. I did not see the meaning of it. I was added to one or two groups but never even made something of it. To be honest, I have not had the time to go for this. But I am really glad you explained this here, sis. Perhaps this is going to be another thing I will check out during my Chrismas break.

Any you’d recommend? I would like an active group where I can get advice as I seek to self host now 🙂

There would be different versions, I’m sure, on other platforms… But I can only advise from experience!
The smaller ones are the best as you have cute groups of members who will share and comment .
Bigger groups are where your post contributions can get lost…
