#SoCS – Feb. 19 2022 – Whatever

Linda’s SoCS prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “whatever.” Use the word “whatever” any way you’d like. Bonus points if you start your post with it. Have fun!

Whatever the weather, come rain or shine, I’ll be here, on my blog, for you, at SoCS time!

You guys know that, don’t you?

Talking of the weather, have you been experiencing Storm Eunice, if you are UK residents? Whatever is that all about?

We were told, on Thursday evening that our area was on amber alert. Just to be safe, Hubby Dearest cancelled a planned 2-hour drive with his dad to pick up a new car, as a present for Dad’s 70th coming on Sunday.I had to cancel a trip out with Lil Princess, too, as I was worried about the risk of trees falling on the country roads we have to navigate.

We woke up on Friday and my phone pinged with the raised alert of RED! That is the danger of death level!

A storm two days before had people posting footage of flying wheelie bins and trampolines, like the big ones! Seeing as we are in the country with a large expanse of land around us, it only seemed wise to get out in the garden before the winds hit, to make sure anything loose was put away, and to batten down the hatches so to speak.

Lil Man’s cricket equipment was dismantled and the summer house was packed with outdoor chairs etc.

As I write this, it is actually Friday afternoon, and I’m sitting in my writing room under the eaves of our home. Stong gusts of wind are making the doors to the little cupboards here, creak. Leaves are flying around all over the show.

I’ve seen videos of the O2 roof being shredded in London, not 15 miles from where we are! I’ve seen the wind fell trees in places, and even fell people, rolling them along the road with the strength of the gusts.

Yup, definitely glad I stayed in.

I’ve got new words down, and now I am off to read a good book!

Whatever!

Glad, you had managed the storms. Isnt it terrible how fast now the climate has changed, and we are getting storms like within a supply chain? ;-/ xx Michael

The weather has been weird and dangerous all over the world. Where I am, most of the big winter storms have gone to the north or south of us, but I never count out March for a blizzard. Today, I’m going to do as you and read a book or drag out a crossword puzzle book since the temps here are not going to get out of the single digits (I believe that’s minus something celsius) with the wind chill. Brrr.

Have a lovely and safe Saturday, Ritu.

Thank you, Mary. I hope you have a peaceful Saturday. It’s still windy, here, but today raindrops are battering my windows, too.
I’m trying to write more, as well, before school starts up. Hoping to get another few hundred down, before I cosy up with a book, or to watch a film!
