FFF 12 A toughie this week!

Matt is a naughty boy! He knows how I love to use words to add into my story when he gives us his Flash Fiction Foray inspiration… But he has chosen an instrumental this week! Check it out Here – Appassionata Secret Garden

She slowly opened the rusty lock, on the old wooden door. It creaked, as she pushed the door open. Taking a deep breath, she stepped forward and raised her eyes. There it was. Looking as amazing as it had all those years ago. Sure, the flower beds were overgrown with weeds, the path no longer clear to walk along, but she could see it. The bench stood there, surrounded by beautiful wild rose bushes.  She slowly took frail steps to the bench, felt the wind-worn wood and sank down. “My secret garden,” she whispered, then closed her eyes… forever….

Not sure… What do you think…?

FFF # 11 Feelin’ Good

Oh you know I love this challenge!
It’s Flash Fiction Foray time!
Matt , The Book Blogger, has a weekly challenge, where he gives us a song prompt, to write a 100 word Flash Fiction piece…
This week, the inspiration comes from the song “Feeling Good” by many artists, over the years, but personally,  for me, it has to be Nina Simone!

Read more about the challenge here.

Selfie Culture

She peeled herself of the floor.

It had been an exhausting day, and to top it off, this session was, well, the icing on the cake… Gulping half her bottle of water down, she wiped the sweat from her brow, and turned to look at herself in the mirror… Sucking her breath in, and holding her stomach tight, she looked pretty thin. She quickly got out her phone, it was never far away, and pouted as she quickly took a selfie.

Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. Yup it was uploaded everywhere.

10 minutes later, 136 likes already! Yeah… she was feeling good!

Done! Hope you like it Matt!

But I Smile Anyway...

California Dreaming – Flash Fiction Foray #4

It’s time for my little dose of flash fiction, thanks to my friend The Book Blogger!

Check out the challenge here!

This week the song prompt is California Dreaming, by The Beach Boys…

Ooh, I’m sure I could have fun with this!

It’s a glorious day, the sun is blazing, I’ve got my rag top down, cruising the streets, en route to the beach. Off to meet my girls, for an afternoon of fun and frolics. It’ll be great! Drink in hand, chilling on the sand, watching the muscle heads exercise, the girls in their skimpy bikinis strutting their stuff.
But I miss what I’d be doing back home. There probably wouldn’t be sun, more like rain… No beach, but some shopping, watching the pennies draining from my purse…oh, and a cup of tea!
And I’m here, sitting in California… dreaming.

Ok, so it’s not as great as the others but forgive me, it’s the Easter holidays, the kids are driving me insane and it’s only day 1!!!

Tomorrow’s Just Another Day – Flash Fiction Foray #3

It’s that time of week again, and I am so happy to promote this cool weekly event by a fellow newbie blogger The Book Blogger, check it all out here!

This weeks inspirational song is Madness – Tomorrow’s (Just Another Day)

It doesn’t matter that I’ve spent the last 5 months, gearing up to this moment. Perfecting my walk, my talk, my smile, my, well, everything really.
I’ve worked on the clothes, the shoes, the hair, the makeup, the look.
I know where I’ll be tomorrow, in the key spot, perfect for immediate eye contact. And I do so hope we’ll make that eye contact. Once he sees me, he’ll know, well, I hope he’ll know, that I’m the one. But then, what if he doesn’t look? All my efforts gone to pot…. After all, for him, tomorrow’s just another day…

I Am A Rock – Flash Fiction Foray Part 2

It’s that time of the week, and I am going for it! The Book Blogger’s Flash Fiction Foray, part 2!
This time we use Simon and Garfunkel’s “I Am A Rock”….

Sitting quietly, I thought no one would notice me.  In the playground, on the bench by the trees. I didn’t want anyone to speak to me, so caught up in my thoughts, I was. Please don’t disturb me. I am not here. I am not me. No, I am not your teacher. Honestly, I’m not. I am a rock. All I need is a little moss, then it would be perfect. No one would touch me. Instead here they are, clambering over me, “Miss! Miss!” Please, just five minutes peace… But no, no peace for a teacher on playground duty…!
