Wow! Another day, another award…!

This time the lovely Erica has nominated me for a new award, and I am so happy to say I haven’t had this one before!!!

Let’s get started and here come the rules:

The questions for me to answer:

What makes your heart shine?
My family makes my heart glow, not just shine! They are what keep me going throughout life too!

What do you do, if there are clouds in front of your inner sun?
I try and blow the clouds away… or I look for that silver lining.. three’s always a silver lining… I firmly believe that!

What would a perfect day for you look like?
It would be a warm day, with no breeze, I would wake up from a full night’s sleep… honestly! And then have a leisurely breakfast. Time spent with the children, with no pressure of homework, and quality time with my Hubby Dearest too! Food would be brought to me, not needing my help with preparing! There would be no housework to do either! I wouldn’t mind being home, but not having any demands on my time would be amazing!

What is your favorite quote?
I don’t know who sais it but “It’s better to die on your feet than to live on your knees…”
It really meant something to me, about living life to the fullest, and not taking the safest options all the time, because you really don’t know what tomorrow might hold…

What was your greatest insight?
My greatest insight… I think once I became a mother, it made me realise just how much, and what my mum did for us children. What she gave up for us, to be there for us as a full time supportive mum.

7 facts about me…

I’m in a bit of tension right now, but thinking about new facts to reveal about myself is fading that tension, and giving me a new one!
I learned how to play the Guitar, the Recorder, and the Piano as a child, but can I still play any of them???? Nope! But I can sing!
I have family in the UK, Finland, India, Kenya, Uganda, USA, Canada, Australia, Denmark, Norway, and I’m sure I have forgotten a few there!
My biggest hope, to make a positive difference to the lives of the children I work with.
Its been nearly 2 months, and I am STILL hula hooping!!!!!! 10 minutes a day! Really! I am actually sticking to something exercise related! That is a miracle!!
I like chocolate, no I LOVE chocolate, but it makes me itch! I eat a bar, it feels so good, then I scratch myself to bits, but oh… it’s worth it!
I went to Russia at 16, and saw the first ever MacDonald’s opened there, the queue for a burger was a mile long, I kid you not! needless to say, we did not wait in that queue, we didn’t fly all the way to the Soviet Union to queue for burgers…!

7 Things about me…

As I’m sat back at home, I think it would only be apt to think of 7 things from when I was little!

When I was born, my Pops was so happy, he distributed sweets, which, nearly 40 years ago, was not the done thing, you only celebrated a boy in that way! See, my parents taught me self respect, and the importance of a woman early on!
Apparently I looked like a doll when I was little!
I loved reading so much I would finish book after book by a very weak light every night, and it resulted in me needing glasses at 11… but I wouldn’t change anything, that thirst for words has got me where I am now!
I tried to be sporty, really I did… I come from a family of sports men, and women, my Pops was a high jump record holder at school, and he was an athlete, and played hockey, mum played lacrosse and tennis, and my brother, well he played county level hockey and cricket. I sometimes liked a bit of netball, and badminton, and joined a tennis club, but it was very short lived! I’d rather dance, or read!!!
I was a nightmare eater, my mum would cry because I wouldn’t eat all her wonderful elaborate meals, made specially for me, as a baby, and child… but hey, I grew up ok1 And I’m making up for it now, I think I eat rather too much!!!
I had my tonsils out at the tender age of 4, and was so happy that I was allowed to eat ice cream, as much as I wanted!!!
And it’s not from my childhood, but related to being home… I fear I have eaten so much this last few days that I have put on about half a stone!!!!!!
