Left Over – Kids Logic Part 28

Flashback to 3 years ago…

Lil Man and his uncle were playing, and Lil Princess was sat, looking very glum, next to them.

Me: What’s the matter, Lil Princess?

LP: [looking mournfully over] I’m feeling very left over!

Bless her, I gave her a cuddle, and we used that one as our take on feeling ‘left out’ for ages!

Posh Food – Kids Logic Part 26

So Lil Princess sits at the dinner table, messing with her food, annoyingly fussy eater that she is…

Me: LP eat up
LP: I am!
Me: No you’re not!
LP: I am! I’m eating the smoke, like posh people!
Me: (looks over to see her wafting her spoon over the steam, and ‘eating’ it) Where did you see that?

I expected a foody answer, we watch lots of cookery and foody programmes. Maybe Heston Blumenthal’s scientifically experimental cooking has inspired her…

LP: On Ben and Holly!

Oh… That great font of food knowledge!!! (Not!!!)
Not a parent? This is Ben and Holly!

The Circus

The circus is in town this week…

What a great way to entertain the kids… And expensive! Β£41 for 3 tickets, but we did go ring side… And another Β£8.50 for candy floss, popcorn and drinks!

I’ve always loved the circus…
I even saw many before they banned the animals.
I recall seeing the Moscow State Circus when they traveled to the UK, in Birmingham, and being in awe! Then I had the opportunity to see it again in its actual home, in Moscow, Russia!
This was where I saw the effects of a circus on some of their animals, and I wholeheartedly agreed with the ban.
There was a beautiful , glossy furred black bear doing tricks, and another, almost more eaten one that was alongside it. He had clumps of missing, and looked so tired. If he missed a trick, he got whipped… It cut through my heart seeing them treat that poor animal so… Whereas the other one was obviously flavour of the month, fed well, treated like a king.
Anyway, back to today!

We saw Santus Sugars… Hula hooping!

wpid-20150417_170916.jpg

And this woman had 10 hoops!

I can just about manage one!!!

A circus is not complete without a clown!

wpid-20150417_173649.jpg

And I love Ariel acts!!

wpid-2015-04-17_18.09.53.jpg
And that was just the first half!!!

After an obligatory picture with the novelty act… A Transformer… Hey they gotta do something while not filming!

There were more Ariel acts

wpid-2015-04-17_19.27.48.jpg

And motor bikes, a human slinky, as well as the Transformer!

wpid-2015-04-17_19.32.29.jpg

A great experience, but its still different to when I was young… the clowns and comedy act, though they got the kids laughing, not the same level of slapstick as before… and I know the animals had it hard, but most of the time they were damn cute and gorgeous… I know someone will think I’m awful for saying that, but as a kid, what was I to know???

It was a lovely, if expensive evening, and now we’re home ready for pizza! And an earlyish night as we have the Vaisakhi Parade to attend tomorrow!

Did you like the circus when you were younger? Or do you still go, like me? (But then you all know I’m a big kid still!)

Police!!!

As I mentioned before, the kids are having a Lego Mini figure moment right now… So we went out and they wanted to spend some of their pocket money at the Lego store! OK, no worries, we could do that…
Half an hour into being in the shop… OMG! How many combinations??!!
Its secretly quite addictive! I was making them too, but obviously not to the kids liking! They could make 3 for Β£5, including an accessory…
The above one, Lil Princess made, an Indian policeman, she said!!!
I think we’ll be here again one day… Or maybe it’ll be just me…!

You’re So Funny Mummy! – Kids Logic Part 25

Like her apparently!

Like her apparently!

Lil Man: You’re so funny Mummy! Like Miranda!

I wasn’t sure whether to take that as a compliment or not at the time he said it, as Miranda Hart, is a bit silly…

But you know what, thinking about it, she is absolutely fantastic! She IS indeed funny, her comedy show Miranda was hilarious, and she is a great role model for women. Yes, she’s bigger than others, not conventionally pretty, but has carved a great career out of her sense of humour, and she has done work for charity like Comic Relief. She also has her serious moments, in Call the Midwife, showing a different dimension to her…

So, yes, I’m happy to be compared to her by my sweet but rather cheeky Lil Man, who incidentally loves to watch Miranda’s series, and giggles his way through each episode!
