Flash Fiction Foray #13 Waterloo Sunset

Matt has the Flash Fiction Foray going on again!
We’re at number 13 already, how’d that happen Matt??!! Still, I’m proud to say I have taken part in each one! 🙂
This time the prompt is Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks.
Read up on the challenge here!

London’s Very Own Cinderella

What a night! But she wasn’t meant to stay out so late! The drinks had been flowing, the music was pumping, and though she had promised herself that she would be back home by midnight, the pull of the beats was far too strong…

She slumped onto the small ledge of a seat in the shelter and looked around. Waterloo station in the background, the dim light of the sun, starting to rise… She’d arrived in London in such style, as the sun set last night, and here she was, waiting for the night bus, watching a Waterloo Sunrise instead.

FFF #10 School’s Out

One of my favourite times of the week, Matt The a Book Blogger has his flash fiction challenge and this week, the song prompt is Aluce Cooper’s “School’s Out”, to celebrate the fact that the majority of UK schools are  breaking up for summer this week…(not mine… We still have to wait until next Friday!!!

For my Fellow Teacher Peeps everywhere!

She rolled over and felt, blindly, for the snooze button… Why did it always get to 6am so soon?  Oh man, 15 minutes more, please! Don’t make me get up!  Slowly, she rolled out of bed, and dragged herself to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth. Looking in the mirror, she saw a bedraggled wreck of a woman staring  back at her. She tried to remember the countdown… How many days left? 4? 3? Then it dawned on her! 1! One day left! Just today! School’s Out For Summer!!!

You could hear the teachers cheers EVERYWHERE!

FFF #8 Hot Hot Hot

Ooooh I love this one!! You know I do! It’s  Flash Fiction Foray time again, and Matt The Book Blogger likes to set a prompt for a short piece of fiction, 100 words max.

This time the prompt song is ”Hot Hot Hot” by The Merrymen… Here goes…

It was another usual day in the kitchen. Mum was busy making the dinner for the evening. She was a great cook, you know. My friends would come round, make their excuses, just so they could sample some of her amazing food! Well that day, I thought I would be extra clever. Off the head cook went, leaving a steaming pan of curry. I tried it… Mmmmmm! But really, I thought it could do with a little more of a ‘kick’ to it… In went a spoonful of chilli powder… I tried it again….Hot! Hot! Hot! Maybe too much…?

FFF#7 Flash Fiction Foray

Ooh yeah! Love this challenge! Check it out Peeps, Here!

This time write a piece of flash fiction, 100 word limit, using the Boney M song, Daddy Cool, as inspiration! Then link back to The Book Blogger, Matt’s, post, as I did above!

I only asked if I could go out one evening… With a guy… 4 years older than me… It’s not that much of a big deal… Is it? Well, ask my dearest father that… He went absolutely ape shit! Like seriously loco!!! You’d have thought I had said that I was going off to become the lead concubine in a rich Maharajah’s harem, the way he reacted!!! It was like the millennium fireworks display, you know, I could literally see the rockets launching from his ears, and exploding around his head…. Wow! This time Daddy had really lost his cool

Hope I did it justice, Matt!!!

Hello – FFF #6

After a brief examination hiatus, The Book Blogger is back with his Flash Fiction Foray challenge..it entails working a selected song title into a 100 word story… Oooh its been a
while, but here goes!!!
This time the song is a true classic “Hello” by the legend Lionel Ritchie, my brother’s favourite singer!

He sits across the room, looking over at me. I’m just as bad. Glancing over his way, catching his eye, then rapidly glancing down. He’s got the shirt, holding the flowers, like he said he would. I probably look totally different to what he was expecting, but that was my plan.
I do that, you know, try to seem anonymous, so I can decide if I really want to meet them. If I don’t like the
look of them, I walk away…
But too late, he’s coming this way! He steps up, saying
“Hello, is it me you’re looking for?”….

Hope you liked it! And go on, have a go too!!!

But I Smile Anyway...
