Love/Hate Challenge – The Wedding Edition!

Muddy Mum from Mud And Nettles has challenged me to the Love/ Hate Challenge!
Now you know me, I’m not good at hating things, and initially, I said no, I don’t think I could do this again… Then got to thinking… I’m on my way to an Indian wedding… Oooh there are some strong emotions I feel towards these days, so here goes!

image

The rules are simple
List 10 things you love and 10 things you hate!
Here goes!!
10 things I love about weddings!
1. Getting all dolled up!
2. The meeting of family we haven’t seen in ages.
3. The beauty of such a special day.
4. The colorful outfits everyone wears.
5. Seeing new and beautiful venues.
6. The party.
7. The dancing!
8. The singing!
9. The food!!!
10. All the pomp and circumstance of an Indian wedding!

10 things I hate about weddings! Indian ones particularly!
1. The extra early starts on the wedding day! It ain’t fun, smearing full slap on at 6am!!!
2. The sheer amount of functions you are expected to attend, especially if you are not that close to the couple getting married!
3. The expenses incurred by a big fat Indian wedding, the day itself alone is in the 10’s of thousands sometimes!
4. The expectations that there should be a certain amount of give and give… not take, from the brides family.
5. Having to invite everyone, and allowing them to bring their whole family… Oh my, the expense!
6. The free flowing alcohol which causes extreme idiot behavior from certain males, who have to get tanked up… Cos they can!
7. The fact that a lot of the time, women can’t let their hair down and have a drink , in the open, if they want to.
8. At the temple, the ceremony is beautiful, then you get the temple committee member extending familial congratulations, before launching into an appeal to get everyone to donate lots of money to the temple!
9. The lateness, that is inevitable. That’s Typical Indian Timing (T.I.T.!) for you!
10. The fact that we be up early to get there on time, to make sure a persons special day is not ruined by lateness, for them to all be late anyway!!! I coulda got another hours kip, Jeez!!!!

And with that, I say anyone who fancies it, take up the challenge!
I’m in the car, to the wedding now, will catch up later!
Adios Amigos!

Love/Hate Challenge – A blogging list

image

Oh this is actually one challenge I find really hard!!!!
Thanks to Karuna for the nomination…
I’ll try my best! I am going to dedicate this to BLOGGING!
😉

The Rules-

# List 10 things that you love.
# List 10 things that you hate.
# Nominate fellow bloggers to take the challenge.

10 Things I Hate About Blogging

  1. Days of no inspiration
  2. Missing posts written by people I’ve come to care about
  3. HTML!
  4. Spam
  5. Trolls on other blogs (I haven’t been hit yet, and if I have, I’m too dappy to have realised!)
  6. Forgetting to tag properly
  7. When spellcheck, or predictive text goes wrong on my mobile or iPad, and I end up publishing something that makes me sound stupid!
  8. Too many talented writers out there, and not enough time!
  9. Ignorance
  10. The hold this blog has on me! It’s terrible!

10 things I LOVE about blogging

  1. The amazing friends I have made on here!
  2. The fact that my passion for writing has finally come out and I have an audience of readers out there who actually enjoy what I babble on about!
  3. I can air my views, and know that that is exactly what everyone reading will understand, that they are just my views, not law!
  4. The opportunities to learn so much about cultures, and different places via amazing blogs on here!
  5. I know I can come on here and have a fantastic conversation with someone, pretty much any time of the day or night!
  6. Being able to share my knowledge and experiences, thoughts and opinions, and hopefully give something to the world that will help make someone’s day a better one!
  7. There is ALWAYS something great to read!
  8. The inspiration I get from the wonderful friends I have in my blogosphere!
  9. Getting these gratefully received awards from people, who feel I actually deserve them ,and that in itself makes me feel so wanted!
  10. Same as #10 in hate… The hold this blog has on me, I actually love it, and wouldn’t change it now! I find myself waking up and wanting to see what is happening on my reader, and notification page, eager to interact with you all!

I hope you all enjoyed my list, as you know, I hated doing this challenge last time, as I am not a natural hater or negative person, and I found it hard… this was also not easy, but easier than the last time!

I am not going to nominate specific people, but this time I open it up to all of you, all my wonderful Peeps! If you want to, take the Love/Hate challenge, and see what kid of a list you could come up with!

The Love/Hate Challenge

Another day, another challenge!!!

This time the lovely, extremely funny, and sometimes saucy Rob of The V-Pub challenged me to one I haven’t done before!

In this challenge, I have to list ten things that I love and then ten things that I hate.   Then, I’ll nominate 10 bloggers to do the same.  Here goes:

Ten things I love

  1. My family – I wouldn’t be me without them!
  2. My cat – he stealthily came into our lives, and slowly overtook our hearts..
  3. Chocolate – even though it makes me itch, I have to eat it!
  4. Books – I love to read, and my ideal holiday would involve sun, sand, the sea, and a good boom!
  5. Friends – I don’t get much time to spend with my friends, but they are so important to me… Sone know far too much!
  6. Music – I need a song for all situations, I’m singing all the time, and all sorts of genres grace my music shelves… Pop, Bollywood, soul, hip hop, r’n’b, swing, disco, Bhangra, 70’s, 60’s, rock ‘n’roll, yo panne Blythe a few.
  7. Water – I love to drink it, to lay in it, to swim in it, to sit beside it, watching the ebb and flow of a tide…
  8. Food – I do love good food, I love to eat, and savour different flavours!
  9. My Job – I truly love doing what I do every day, teaching, and spending time with these little sponges, and helping them along their journey of life!
  10. Blogging – well how could I not include this!?! It has become a huge part of my life in a short time, and I miss not being on here!

Ten things I hate – Hate is a strong word, I really don’t hate an awful lot of things, so I know this will be a toughie!

  1. Negativity – if you can’t see the positive in life, you will be a hard person to me around.
  2. Hay fever – I can’t begin to describe how much I hate the itchy eyes, the sneezing etc!
  3. Spiders – self explanatory really!
  4. Bitter Gourd – one vegetable I could do without!
  5. Football! – How can I forget this! I cant stand football, Full Stop!
  6. Bogeys – or at least nose picking!
  7. Bores – people who refuse to join in, and get involved in things, whether it is a day to day thing, or something specific… come on folks, give it a go, whatever it is, before declaring something a fail!
  8. Politics – this is something I can’t fathom, I don’t profess to know much about, and even thought, yes, I know it affects me in some way, I can’t be bothered with it!
  9. Show offs – Yes lovely you got that new car/job/Prada coat, but after showing it off once, we don’t need to see it again, and again, and again.. or hear about it!
  10. Being tired – I spend most of my life tired, its just the lifestyle I have, but I hate feeling tired!

Wow! That was actually really hard! I have to say, I really don’t HATE things in this respect… don’t like, yes, but HATE? Strong word, hate…. But still, I tried!
