Or the word Mushrooms…

As far as the eye can see
Resembling funghi

#SoCS July 23/16 – Second

SoCS badge 2015

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “second.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Hmm…Second… Just a second, let me think… what can I write?

Now that’s a phrase I seem to use an awful lot “Just a second” or “One sec“!

But really, is that how long I am really expecting someone to wait…? I know, you know, they know, nothing ever takes a second, but I still say it. And now my kids are getting to that cocky age, where they will throw it back at me, and moan when I don;t really take a second! Cheeky monkeys!

On the topic of Second, Lil Princess had her Punjabi School sports day today, and her team came second! ( She didn’t pass the end of year exam, but to be honest I wasn’t expecting her to. She hated it, and I am so proud that she stuck it out for a whole year! This mummy won’t be forcing her to go back in September!)

Oh, and this is my second post so far this evening!

Have a great day/night!

TJ’s Household Haiku – Green

TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge this week… check it out here.

His prompt photo was

fence paint flaking with geraniums  and the prompt word, Fence.

My take…

20160703_112108.jpg

Cricket match tension
Batter standing at the green
Fielders fence him in
Can he hit a boundary?
By God, he’s done it! Howzat!

TJ’s Household Haiku – Bouquet

Tj’s Household Haiku Challenge.

There was a photo

Place Monge Flowers

And the word VIBRANT.

My take…

Colours so vibrant
A bouquet of memories
Each telling a tale

Ritu 2016

The fabric is actually from my mum. These are outfits that she was bought for her wedding, and each separate piece really does have a story behind it. She has kept some of these pieces aside for me, as memory pieces, things that I will have a sentimental attachment to.

She always starts the conversation with “I’m not being morbid but one day I won’t be here, so I want to get these things sorted out.” And there is a pile of these jewel-coloured outfits for me, and for my sister in law!

One thing’s for sure, I’ll never forget my mum.
