Well, now I’ve cleared the glitch with regards to my Blogging 101 course, I am looking forward to a month of extra special posts!
(on top of the special ones I post generally!)
And I have signed up for a course, like a proper course too!
I qualified as a teacher in 1997 then didn’t work in education until 2010. in that time a LOT had changed, and as it stands, I work as a HLTA, a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. This means that I don’t have to go about the whole rigmarole of planning, preparation and assessment, like the class teacher, but I reap the rewards, I get to work with the kids, and do what I have wanted to do since I was a kid! It suits me at the moment, as, with my own two children to think of, I know a teachers time outside of school is precious, and often it is still taken over by school related activities. I want to give them the support that a mother should be giving, as well as working towards a career back in teaching eventually.
Therefore, with the full encouragement of my family, and Head Teacher, I am taking a Return To Teach course! It will update my qualifications, get me up to scratch with new curriculums and the assessment procedures of today. It’s handy that I have been in school the last 4 years anyway, but to get that piece of paper to show I am officially up to date, will make me, ultimately, more employable too!
I had to arrange finance options as it isn’t cheap, but I’m nervously excited to be starting this at the end of April!
Wish me luck everyone!

I hope it all works out well for you and your family. It’s wonderful that they all agreed to let you concentrate on your teaching future. How long is the course?

It won’t take long, as its just a refresher, over 2 months, and it includes a 5 day placement too. Nervously excited, as I said! 😊

It’s a shame to make it so costly, when you don’t get paid as much as you deserve. But the dividends of making such a difference are priceless!
