As usual our school celebrated World Book Day and the children as a whole embraced the whole dressing up totally!
And the staff decided it would be a great idea to theme the costumes as much as possible.. so we had a huge amount of Oompah Loompahs, Willy Wonka, and me… a giant Wonka Bar!
It wasn’t the easiest costume to wear all day, I couldn’t sit down as it was made of hard cardboard!!! So it was on and off, as need be, but as Chris, The Story Reading Ape really wanted to see my costume, I had to post the pics!

Silly me, I thought every day was World Book Day. The furniture will have to go as I need more room… 😉

I don’t recall us having a World Book Day when I was in elementary school. It’s a great idea.

Reblogged this on Chris The Story Reading Ape's Blog and commented:
My lovely friend Ritu teaches 4 – 5 year olds – so because today is a special day in which the kids get to dress up as their favourite book characters – Ritu and the rest of the school staff did the same 😀
Click the photos to enlarge them 😀
THANK YOU RITU AND TEACHERS EVERYWHERE WHO HELP KIDS LOVE AND ENJOY READING 😀

Aw thank you so much Chris!! Books, writing and reading are so important to me and I instilled that love in my children too! I just hope my story reading at school keeps the love of books alive within my pupils too!
