Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 36

image

This one is dedicated to my gorgeous nephew who I spent a short but precious weekend with…

The was we talk to children becomes their inner voice

Peggy O ‘Mara

It’s such a true quote… Makes me question how I may have talked to my own kids in the past, and whether they have been affected by it…

But I Smile Anyway...

I think about that all the time…I even sat down and spoke with my kids about how I raised them and where my short comings were…they were so understanding and forgiving….I feel it made us closer….great post….kat

      Thanks Kat.
It’s something I think we may even do, and know we might be doing wrong.. But we are all human, eh, and sometimes spur of the moment comments do occur. We can’t think everything we say through all the time, but in return, how does it affect our children…?

I believe it is a repeated phrase over and over it affects, but if its a one time slip and your kids see you were totally exhausted or pulling our your hair because of them, they may understand, I was surprised that the ones that were bothering me, my kids didn’t even remember, they remembered other comments that I didn’t even think twice about…LOL you just never know…but its all good with them and know that they are adults they ask, how did you ever do it, raise me since I was such a little turd111

I fully agree, sis! We have to be so careful. The little ones believe us. And all we say (about them) they soak up! Great quote, dear!

Thanks sis! I had to put something that reflected my weekend, with Lil Babe and it is soooo important. My brother pointed out that I seemed to be sharp with Lil Man, more so than Lil Princess, and my wasn’t she a madam. Isn’t it just the case though, that the eldest gets made the scapegoat for everything? And I know that isn’t right, but it just seems to happen. I try soooo hard to follow all I say with a positive, but it is tough….

It is sad, but it is totally true. I was so much more strict and clear with my daughter than with her brothers. Sometimes it is good to get another opinion on that.

I know, I appreciate all my brother said, and I do try to change what I do…

We are human, Ritu. We just need to watch ourselves at times. That already makes us see a lot. When I talked to my son some years ago and said that I was sorry, that I was so impatient with him and that I was sorry I put such a pressure at him, he said he nerver felt it that hard as I did. We don’t have a manual for parenti g. We grow into it as the kids grow. You are a great mom, Ritu. You want the best for your kids and you are willing to change something. We learn from each other. ☺

Thanks sis… I know, its never easy, and kids are resilient, but it doesn’t stop us feeling bad about certain things…

I hear you, Ritu! How many evenings after putting them to bed I was crying because I reacted again the way I did not want to anymore. We can only do our best. From all I know and experienced about life by today I know that whatever we give to others in the end is something they need on their path. It is not an excuse to not change something when we realize it, not at all! I just want to say that whatever we give has the effect it is supposed to have. We chose the people we live with and they teach us. We teach our children and they again teach us…. also in the way we regret what we did. It’s all OK! We cannot undo what was done and feeling guilty doesn’t change anything. It only weakens. We can only do it different now. You can talk to lil man and even tell him about this all. He might even get a lot of strength and confidence when you are talking to him so openly.
