#JusJoJan – January 11th, 2018 – Humiliate

Day eleven of #JusJoJan!

I’m going to try to write on each of the prompts!

Today the prompt is:

Your prompt for January 11th, 2018, brought to you by the very wordy Jim, is “Humiliate.” Use it any way you’d like in your post. And make sure you visit Jim at his blog, “Jim Adams Author” link: https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/

Thanks Jim!

Humiliate

I’m not sure I like today’s word… because I hate the thought of humiliating someone, or being humiliated.

But it happens.

There are people out there who go out on a limb to create embarrassment and hurt to others, and then there are those who sometimes don’t realise their actions or words may cause a feeling of humiliation in another.

I often laugh off things that may cause humiliation… sometimes I don’t take it as an insult, but equally, I can speak before thinking, and before I know it, sensitive souls may have taken my words to heart, or thought I was out to hurt…

Why don’t I think first…?

So a Tanka:

You injure my pride
Take away my dignity
Humiliate me
Intentional actions hurt
Can I face the world again?

Ritu 2018

See you tomorrow!

You had very interesting thoughts on this and very true too! I like the poem as well. You really said it all!

Still too much under the weather to “humiliate” you, otherwise I would have tried☺
This lingering flu is sapping my energy. Maybe it is trying to humiliate me.

I’m in the speaking without thinking category. My sister says I have no filter. I wish I could say I will try and change, but I’m too old now. Great poem

Good point, Sis. Sometimes I don’t think before speaking although I would never want to hurt or humiliate someone. 🙂

It does happen, intentionally and unintentionally, still not a good feeling.

someone is gonna get face-to-face meeting with the Thames if I catch em humiliating you. I’ll just tell the London Police “I didn’t know there was a river down there. I woulda thrown them off a different part of the bridge if’n I knew there was water to break their fall.” I wonder how that would fly in a London court????

Lol! You do make me giggle! However, what if it was me who’d done the humiliating?

I completely agree with every word Sis, humiliation is such an ugly thing. We are all guilty of engaging mouth before brain. I have also had my fair share of humiliation in my time. Let’s face the day with kindness.💜💜💜💜

Hey Ritu, actually this word should not be a fan of anyone but its greatest FAN is our RELATIVES who don’t miss a occasion to ding on us even for no reason.
