Charli’s prompt this week:
May 3, 2018, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) use a line in your story. You can think of the variation of the word meaning, or you can think of visual references. Go where the prompt leads.
Lines
“Here’s ten pence.”
“Sorry, do I know you?”
“Call your mum. Tell her you’re not coming home.”
“What?”
“You must be so tired.”
“Huh?”
“Because you’ve been running through my dreams all night.”
“Just stop.”
“I seem to have lost my phone number. Can I have yours?”
“Seriously?”
“Kiss me if I’m wrong, but dinosaurs still exist, right?”
“Oh God!”
“Can I follow you home? Cause my parents always told me to follow my dreams.”
“You know, if you’d just asked me out, I’d have probably said yes. But after those cheesy pick-up lines, I really don’t think so!”

Ritu, this reads like a train ready to derail on these tired lines! Great dialog to make this cheese pop as a flash.

Cheesy chat up lines were the first thing that came to mind when I read your prompt, and then made me reminisce about the times I was approached in bars and clubs at University. Of course no one was that persistant, to use all those lines at once, but there were a few good tries!!! 😀

HA! No, I didn’t ! This was many years before my literary dreams became apparent! And now I know, everything we experience becomes fodder… for our writing!

This is a classic case of “line maro-ing” as we would call it in our college days. 🙂 🙂
Trying to hit on someone in a cheesy way!!
Funny !!

I think the funniest time I had was in my first year at uni when a guy, some overseas from India student came up to me and said ” I didn’t know how to fly until I saw you!” It’s not even a line!! Made no sense! I cracked up in his face, and laughed with my friends for ages! The poor guy was so embarrased…!
