Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “empty/hollow.” Use one, use both, entirely up to you. Enjoy!
It’s funny isn’t it.
As a parent, you crave that time to be together as a couple, without kids constantly bickering and calling out for your attention.
And when you get that time, you get that empty feeling within. It’s like nothing has any real meaning, because the kids aren’t around.
I’m feeling that at the moment, as I write it, the night before scheduling the post.
On Saturday, we are travelling up to London to the Annual Bloggers Bash, and as we have to leave a little early, we decided that rather than drag the kids up extra early on a Saturday, they can spend the Friday night with their grandparents, where they are staying Saturday night anyway.
So, we’ve dropped them.
And are back home, and it is QUIET!
It’s like the house has lost it’s soul, a hollow shell of a building, with no children in it.
Saturday will be different as we are away, and that is meant to be a treat for the two of us, but this Friday, home definitely doesn’t feel right.
Right, I’m off, can’t ramble today, need to pack!

I can relate. not with kids, but my dog! I was wighout him for 2 nights recently, the house felt so empty! I missed him like crazy! xo

Yikes, I just read another post on empty nest syndrome. Imagine that feeling when they leave home manifesting into the future. 18 or so years of full house, all those interruptions that frustrate now when we are doing something… things that we will look back on a entirely miss when they’re gone!

Nothing wrong with runner up Ritu, but I have to say some were really advertising the nominations across all social media. Way more than I saw last year so maybe that gave an assist.
So pleased you enjoyed it too. I know how much you like it so I’d hate to think you hated it lol.
As for that time…. my eldest is doing A levels this year 😥

Lol, that’s the part I can’t do. Self promotion! Oddly a large number of people apologised for not knowing I was nominated. They hadn’t associated Gary with fictionisfood. It seem I’m a brand rather than a person 😂😂

It is a strange dichotomy, isn’t it? In the midst of the chaos, I long for a break. Shen that break comes though, it feels oddly…off…without the chaos. Weird. 😃
