Chai And A Chat #36 #ChaiAndAChat

Hey there Peeps! Time for our weekly catch up, get that drink ready!

  • If we were sipping chai together I’d tell you the week wasn’t quite as warm as I was expecting… why do I ever look at the weather? Are they ever right? There was rain, wind, sun, more rain. But we still had a good week!
  • If we were sipping chai together I forgot to mention last week that alongside starting the editing, I managed to pull together author branding… and set up a whole new blog and facebook page which is devoted to my author persona. Seriously, that is quite a feat! Now I just need to get more people following there too! (Hint Hint!) If you want to, pop over to www.ritubhathal.com
  • If we were sipping chai together I’d say that the rest of the week was lovely. After dropping Lil Man to school on Monday, Lil Princess and I headed out to Bluewater shopping centre for a little retail therapy. She had a giftcard she wanted to make a dent in, and she did! It’s such fun going out with her now, as a young lady. She makes the funniest comments and we can talk about opinions in rather a mature fashion! My Lil Princess is growing up…
  • If we were sipping chai together I’d tell you that on Tuesday it was time for some pampering. My roots have been calling out to me but I wanted to leave them for as long as possible so we ventured out for a hair morning: mine to be dyed, hers for a trim! Got there in the end!
  • If we were sipping chai together I’d tell you that in the afternoon, I shut the world out of my room and got ready to be interviewed for my first ever podcast! It has been done and when it is available to listen to, I’ll be sure to post the link! How much fun to talk to someone from the other side of the world!
  • If we were sipping chai together I’d let you know that the pampering didn’t end there. We also had our nails done too! And yes, that is a bit of henna on my hand. Lil Princess decided she wanted Henna so we went and got that and had a go and decorating our hands!
  • If we were sipping chai together I’d let you know that I was the good wife on Wednesday, and after dropping the kids to school or their grandparents’ place, I chauffeured Hoppalong Hubby Dearest to his work. He’s not been in for nearly 8 weeks so it was a big deal. It’s quite a journey so the plan was that I drop him, then sit in the cafe area, reading, writing, editing, whatever I want. And it was so peaceful! I found a sofa and settled myself, and consumed cups of tea and cake, had a sandwich, and a little more, whilst reading and composing a poem about hair, before he came to rescue me and transferred me to his office where I managed to edit another chapter.
  • If we were sipping chai together I’d show you what I had made, that arrived last week… a locket with the front cover of my poetry book! It is so lovely, and the hope is that I can add a new locket each time I release a book!
  • If we were sipping chai together I’d tell you the rest of the week was pretty average. I got a few chapters edited, I wrote lots more comments on the reports for school but that is a never-ending, thankless task… I read, I cleaned, I laundered (clothes, not money) and I rested.
  • If we were sipping that chai together, and possibly reaching for cake or cookies I’d tell you that, as you read this, I will be back at school for the final term of the school year. It will fly by, but it will drag too. There is so much to do, from assessment to preparations for next year, as well as trying to squeeze in as much fun as possible for the kids… The first day is staff training, then the children are back… wish me luck!
  • If we were sipping that chai togetherand possibly reaching for cake or cookies I’d mention, just a little excitedly, that the Annual Bloggers Bash is this coming weekend! EEEEK!! I am debating what baking will be occurring this year… His Geoffleship, are you ready? And I am really looking forward to meeting everyone again! Such fun!
  • If we were sipping that chai togetherand possibly reaching for cake or cookies I’m hoping to get into more of a routine so I can get this edit done sooner, rather than later… Fingers crossed!

Have a wonderful week, Peeps! Let me know how your week went!

These are so fun to read, Ritu. As long as I have known you, I don’t really know you. These posts are a lovely way for others to get to know you better. You lead quite an amazing life, I think. Hope you have a great weekend.

Oooo exciting new venture for the ‘author persona’, off to check it out now! Glad you managed some retail therapy, and getting your hair & nails done too, the Henna is very cool. The podcast sounds exciting too, did you enjoy doing it? I think I’d find it very daunting, I’d be too worried my brain would go blank when asked a question! How’d your hubby get on at work? Having that quiet time in the cafe area sounds good, I could do with a little of that I think, a little time away to collect my thoughts & do a little writing. The bloggers bash has come around so quickly, I don’t know where the time’s going. I’m really sad to be missing out now but I hope you all have an awesome time!! I’ll be there in spirit 🙂
    Caz xx

Thanks Caz! It would be wonderful if you could be there!

The Podcast ended up being like chatting to a mate on the phone! Except it was recorded via the webcam… thankfully not as a video though!
Hubby’s work was good. He’s been given things to think about, positive stuff, and I think it was good for him to get out the house!xx

Gosh, this were my thoughts: The women are on shopping tour, and the men are at work.. Lol
But you really deserved it, with the lot of work you had done around your book project too. Best wishes, Michael.

Eek as if it’s the Bash this weekend gosh that has come around so fast. Gutted I can’t be there but it’s a bit much to travel when I’m this far gone. I’ll be watching the Facebook page like mad though.

I love your nails – really lovely. You really made the most of your time at hubby’s office – very productive. I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone!

It sounds like you had a good week, Ritu, and I am glad your hubby is doing better. Mine is also home for 5 days before jetting off to Dubai. He is now a world traveler.

I’ve been lucky in that he’s only had one job that required travelling… And even that was only national!
Still, I think he’d love to go anywhere at the moment!
