Song Challenge (Music That Means Something) Day 2 – Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head – BJ Thomas

A thank you goes out to fellow blogger and friend, Lisa, for nominating me for this fun challenge. The rules are:
Post a song a day for five consecutive days.
Post what the lyrics mean to you.  (Optional)
Post the name of the song and video.
Nominate 1 or 2 bloggers each day of the challenge.

Today I give you Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head. I know I posted this song last month too, as part of my #musicalmarch challenge, but I really love the positive message it sends. It is really me, if you know what I mean, even though things may be rough, I know it won’t last, and the sun will shine on me sooner or later!

And humour me… click on the link below to hear me warbling along to the song too! I do love a sing song!

Something even more fun, while rooting through old things at home, I found an old vinyl copy of this song!

20170405_093732

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn’t mean my eyes
Will soon be turning red
Crying’s not for me ’cause,
I’m never gonna stop the rain
By complaining,
Because I’m free
Nothing’s worrying me
It won’t be long
Till happiness
Steps up to greet me

And today, I nominate my bloglings,  Rich and Erika! Because it’s all about the music, and I know you two luuuurve music!

Song Challenge (Music That Means Something) Day 1 – Rag’N’Bone Man – Human

A thank you goes out to fellow blogger and friend, Lisa, for nominating me for this fun challenge. The rules are:
Post a song a day for five consecutive days.
Post what the lyrics mean to you.  (Optional)
Post the name of the song and video.
Nominate 1 or 2 bloggers each day of the challenge.

So today, on the first day, I am posting a relatively new song which really resonates with me. Often we are in situations where we have blame put upon us, and it isn’t our fault. Things happen that are not in our control, yet we are the scapegoat for all the issues. I find myself singing along to this song with so much passion… because I’m only human after all…

Human, by Rag’n’Bone Man.

Some people got the real problems
Some people out of luck
Some people think I can solve them
Lord heavens above
I’m only human after all
I’m only human after all
Don’t put the blame on me
Don’t put the blame on me
I’m only human
I make mistakes
I’m only human
That’s all it takes
To put the blame on me
Don’t put the blame on me

And today, I nominate

Judy and Willow

I’ll be back tomorrow with Day two, and two more nominations!!!

Leibster Award from Em Linthorpe!

Haven’t done one of these for a while!

I am part of a fantastic group of bloggers on Facebook, called Big Up Your Blogs! Since interacting with them, I have developed even more blogpalships!

One of these pals is Em Linthorpe, and she nominated us for the Leibster Award, collectively! Now I have done this one several times over, but I feel I must do this, as the group has been so supportive to each other, and I am sat here on my sick leave, so have the time too!

So to the rules…

1) Say hi to the person sweet enough to want to know more about you – and display your award with pride;
2) Answer the eleven questions the person gives you;
3) Give eleven random facts about yourself;
4) Nominate some other people that you think are deserving of this award;
5) Let them know you have nominated them;
6) Give them eleven questions to answer.

So, Hi Em!!!! Thank you so much for thinking of me, and our whole group!

11 questions for me to answer:

Listen up nominees! These are the questions I would like you to answer.

1.  What phone apps could you not live without?

My WP app, all the usual social media suspects, my banking app, and the various photo editing ones I use regularly!

2. Do you still keep in touch with any of your school friends?

Via Facebook, we link up, and a couple of years ago we had a reunion where a few of us got together the year we all turned 40! It was so good to catch up with each other!

3. What is your opinion of garlic?

It is a great flavour, as long as you don’t use too much! And it scares away Vampires… what’s not to like! Come one, you know you love garlic bread…!

4. Do you ever do DIY at home?

Simple stuff, like lightbulbs, and tightening screws… I’m not too bad with flatpack furniture! First proper time painting rooms last summer, and I replaced a light socket too! Hey, that’s not bad going for a Girlie Girl!

5. What are your most treasured books on your bookshelf?

I have so many books, but I think my Set of Noddy books are extremely special as they were given to me when I was recovering from an operation at four years old, and they are complete with Gollywogs and all!

6. What was the first concert/gig you attended?

It would have been an Indian musician with my Parents, Gurdas Maan, amazing singer! The first, and only western concert I went to was to see Blackstreet at Wembley!

7. If there was one thing you could change about your house, what would it be?

New flooring!

8. Have you ever been camping?

I have… two interesting days and nights, for my Duke Of Edinburgh award. A sheep walked into our tent… nuff said!

9. What was your worst kitchen disaster?

I love being in the kitchen, so I’ve had my fair share of disasters… but a recent one was when I made cakes for a school bake sale and they all sunk on me! Never has that happened before!!!

10. What words do you regret saying to someone else?

I’m not sure, but I guess what comes to mind is the few times I have generally blown off at the kids, because I am tired and have a short fuse, then I want to hug them and say sorry… They are just kids, not my sounding board.

11. Give us a brief overview of your gaming history.

Gaming and me… Well, let’s be honest, I am not a gamer really! But as a child, we had a Commadore 64 and we used to play Wheelin’ Wally. Then the Sega MegaDrive arrived and Sonic and Golden Axe were favourites! At Univeristy, Hubby Dearest and pals had the PS2 and Tekken was a game played in large groups. I loved it one day when my totally random pressing of buttons meant I beat every guy in the room! No tactics, just playing like a girl!

Now, I prefer things like the Just Dance games on the Wii!

11 random facts about myself

Apologies if you’ve read any of these before… In the past I did so many of these Award Tag posts that I don’t think I have anything majorly original to say!

  1. I have 29 first cousins!
  2. I can wiggle one eyebrow!
  3. I have a stationary fetish, seriously!
  4. The varied backgrounds of my family make me a British, Kenyan, Indian! But genetically, I am 100% Indian!
  5. I passed my driving test on the fourth go… (no comments about why my accident happened here!)
  6. I hate, really can’t stand, sports!
  7. I went swimming with turtles and dolphins in the Carribbean, what an experience!
  8. I only have one ovary.
  9. My wedding dress took 5 people embroidering for 16 hours a day, for 11 days, to make. Wow!
  10. I had Laser Eye surgery nearly ten years ago!
  11. It’s not often that you’ll see me without a smile. 😀

11 questions for my nominees: Excuse the laziness, but I am using Em’s questions!

Listen up nominees! These are the questions I would like you to answer.

1.  What phone apps could you not live without?

2. Do you still keep in touch with any of your school friends?

3. What is your opinion of garlic?

4. Do you ever do DIY at home?

5. What are your most treasured books on your bookshelf?

6. What was the first concert/gig you attended?

7. If there was one thing you could change about your house, what would it be?

8. Have you ever been camping?

9. What was your worst kitchen disaster?

10. What words do you regret saying to someone else?

11. Give us a brief overview of your gaming history.

And I would like to nominate each and every one of you! You have all been so supportive the past week, since my accident, that I just want you all to know I really appreciate you!

Big Love! ❤

Well hey there! #MyFirstPostRevisited

That Geoffles! His Geoffleship decided to help snap me out of this whiplash induced writing coma that I had fallen into today, by tagging me to do this… Thanks His Geoffleship for getting me typing again today!

my-first-post_revisited-bloghop

A tag started by a blogger/writer called Sarah Brentyn, asking us to revisit our first ever blog posts!

It’s funny but until I decided to leave a comment on a friend’s first ever post, which she had shared on Facebook, I had no idea what ‘blogging’ was! The site asked me to log in or create an account if I wanted to comment, and so I did. It then prompted me to set up something for myself, if I wanted… and then, suddenly, in an instant, I began the journey that led me to rediscover my love of the written word, crafting syllables, pushing my creative soul, and finding a whole new family out there in the blogosphere!

So here goes… November 25th, 2014…

So hi anyone who’s reading!

Blogging… Me? Who’d a thunk it?!

As I sit here, kids around me, with the sick bug slowly fading from our lives, I wonder about happiness.

There’s so much sadness, upset, anger in this world and I, for one, hate it.

I hear things, experience things, do things, and more often than not, I try to find the positive in all I do.

If you know me, you know my smile is omnipresent! I try to face the world with a big grin!

My glass is always half full!😜

Even when I’m low… I smile anyway… Hence the name of this blog. I’ll try to post things that make me smile… And hopefully they’ll make you smile too!

CHEEEEEEEEEESE!!!!!!!

Ok…so the rules

Obvious rules:

  • No cheating. (It must be your first post. Not your second post, not one you love…first post only.)
  • Link back to the person who tagged you (thank them if you feel like it or, if not, curse them with a plague of ladybugs).

Other rules:

  • Cut and paste your old post into a new post or reblog your own bad self. (Either way is fine but NO editing.)
  • Put the hashtag #MyFirstPostRevisited in your title.
  • Tag…um…tentwotwelve five (5) other bloggers to take up this challenge.
  • Notify your tags in the comment section of their blog (don’t just hope they notice a pingback somewhere in their spam).
  • Feel free to cut and paste the badge to use in your post.
  • Include “the rules” in your post.

Completely silly rules that I’m making up as I type:

  • Drink a glass of wine, bottle of beer, cup of coffee, mug of herbal tea or whatever floats your boat after you hit “publish”. (In other words, toast yourself. Go you!)
  • Read the post out loud in a Mickey Mouse voice.

So, who do I tag…? It’s gotta be my original Blogily!

Erika

Judy

Rich

Syl

Willow

Looking forward to reading your #myfirstpostrevisited posts! (But please don’t feel obliged!!!)

Thanks again His Geoffleship!
