Moonlighting as a single mum…

No, I am not really a single mum all of a sudden, but I guess the next couple of days, I’ll feel what it could be like.

Hubby Dearest has started a new job today, and his first few days require him to be away from us overnight.  He’s never done that before, his previous job didn’t require it.

But today, it’s just me and the munchkins!  It’s kind of weird to be honest! Usually its me and the kids who might go away for a few days, to visit my parents, and Daddy is left at home, and this time it’s the opposite!

Need to eat, get the bins ready for disposal tomorrow morning, do everything I usually do, for tomorrow, but when its bed time, there isn’t one more person to call upstairs to wish the children goodnight.

Again, thank you Skype, we’ll be utilising you most definitely!

Then comes my bed time… I’ll need Sonu Singh next to me so I don’t feel lonely…not that he’ll stay there!  It’ll be a different feeling, knowing he’s not by my side…

Roll on the next few days please, I need my man back!

Painful…

Am sat here at the barber shop…
No, not for me, obviously!😜
But it’s time for Lil Man’s termly haircut, and boy did I need to do some convincing!
He looks like the fifth Beatle at the moment, and tells me that the mop is great in winter, it keeps his head warm!
But not commenting on the lengthy fringe which inhibits his sight!
As he flicks his head to move said fringe, I wonder, will he cause himself a neck injury!?
Still, he’s sat in the chair, on the booster seat… Hopefully he’ll leave with a smile… Though one wrong snip and I’ll have nuclear meltdown on my hands!
Please Mr Barber, treat his precious hair with care!!!

We’re back!

So, date night been n gone!

Yes we went shopping… No, bought nothing for ourselves but two bags of things for the kids.

Cinema, yes, The Woman In Black-Angel Of Darkness definitely a no kids zone! We even splashed out and got the gallery seats, so a huge pile of snacks and comfy seats, what could be better?
(Films wasn’t all that though!)

Dinner, ERM, pass! Was so full from previously mentioned snacks, we wandered around the complex trying to decide, but neither if us was hungry enough to eat…

So homeward bound we still ended up at my in laws to see the kids one last time before bed!

So an evening, child free, theoretically, but they still ended up in there with us one way or another!!!

Chest hair!!

OK, so I’m sat here, watching EastEnders, as you do on January 1st, and suddenly an urgent scream comes from the bath!

“Mum!!! I got a chest hair!!!! My first one!!! I GOT A CHEST HAIR!!!!!”

OK, so Lil Man is 9… Not 19… 9.

I rushed as much as the urgent shout prompted and found him floating in the bath, pointing at his stomach, and a non existent ‘chest’ hair between his fingers..,

“ERM I can’t see anything son, and, by the way, that’s not your chest, that’s your tummy…”

Why on earth do they want to grow up so fast??!!

So that’s where we’re from! Kids Logic pt 2

Asda

Reminiscing about things the kids have said in the past…

One fine example of comedy from my dearest son last year.

Says my Pops to his grandson, ” You know, you are from India originally.”

Lil Man:” No, we’re from Gravesend!”

Pops/Nanu: “No dear, your genes are from India…”

Lil Man: ” No Nanu, my mum said my jeans were from Asda!”

Asda jeans

There was a look of confusion on his face for ages afterwards, he couldn’t work out why we were rolling about, laughing!
