Nervous Excitement

i usually flake out at 10-11pm, its usual for Hubby Dearest to come into our bedroom, gently take my iPad/book out of my hands, and switch the lights off, as I’m am knocked out.

Last night, however, I retired early, knowing my big day is coming, but could I sleep?! Heck no!

It got to 11.45pm, and my mind was still buzzing. I had to switch on lights and read again, then I put it down, but still no sleep came.

At 1am, Sonu Singh joined us on the bed, but rather than the foot of the bed, he was tight by my side, wanting gentle tickles, and that was me up again!

It was hot, I was sandwiched between Hubby Dearest and Kitty, unable to move properly, for fear of chucking the cat on the floor!

I finally landed in Sleepytown, only for my alarm to beep at 6am… Oh really??!!

Anyway, it’s here, my big da you!

I’m exvited, nervously excited. So starts the cycle of early starts, and staff meetings, assessment and planning, but best of all having a class of my own!

Ok, so I’m starting gently… It’s Inset day, which means no kids, us Teachers are being taught today, so tomorrow will be the main day, but heigh ho! Off I go!!

Toodleoo, my lovely readers! I’ll catch up soon!!!

Off Radar!!

Before I bid you all good night, I just wanted to say…
Eeeeeek!!!!
It’s my first day as a proper teacher tomorrow!!!

Forgive me if I’m not ‘on it, like a car bonnet’, I might be slower with responses to things, there may be days with no posts…

But I’ll try not to let reality get between me and my beloved blogosphere!!!!!!

But is gonna be a busy time, so please, don’t hold it against me…!

Hopefully I’ll come out with more blogger fodder!! 😊😊

Where the Wild Mums Are!

I have already mentioned this week, how mum’s sometimes want a break, but it doesn’t mean that they no longer want to be mum… they just need a change, once in a while…

Know this book? It’s a great story about a little boy, wrapped up in his own fantasy land, when he has been sent up to his room… well, today, I found this on the book store, and HAD to get it!

This is about a mum who has just had enough… And her journey, via a bubble bath, to the Land of Where The Wild Mums Are!!! Oh she parties, dances, balances drinks on her head, and gets crowned Queen of The Wild Mums, but knows when she’s had her break, and needs to get back to her reality…

Fantastic!

I read it to my kids and explained that though mummies love their families very much, even they sometimes need a break… Hint, hint!!!

Sublime Saturdays!

I love this!!! Remember it folks, life is too short, let’s make the time we do have, on this earth, a happy, good time!!!

For Our Unique Children…

When I read this for the first time, it hit a nerve, so close to my heart. I printed it off, and put it in my classroom at the time.
All children are unique, they grow into unique adults. If they were all to achieve the same successes, and excel at everything they did, what a boring world we would live in … It’s good that some kids are good at maths, or literacy, and others are great in sport, or the arts. We need those strong in the sciences too, but they don’t have to be top in everything!
Equally we shouldn’t compare them… Two best friends might be polar opposites, academically, and in personality, but their two different halves, make a fantastic whole… Don’t spoil it by comparing them, and playing one off the other, so their friendship inevitably suffers…

Let’s love our children for what they are, not what others expect them to be.
