Join the dots!

So sneak preview of my pressie to Hubby Dearest today!
We never go serious, its just a little token!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I’m going to go do the good thing, go and spend quality time with Hubby Dearest today.
We love each other every day, granted, but what with work, and the kids, it’s not easy to actually demonstrate that love.

Besides I’m usually too tired!!

Kids are off to the inlaws for the night, and whether it’s a meal, a movie, at home or going out, time spent together as a couple, is always special!

Trying to recreate the times when we first met, when other responsibilities weren’t upon our shoulders.

So have a wonderful day if you too, are like us, and don’t get caught up in the commercialism of today, but use it as a chance to cement your feelings for one another!

Happy Weight

Happy!

Happy!

A while back I posted about not dieting, and how I was happy with how I look, and feel.

It is still true, but I still find myself stepping on those scales regularly, and wondering if things are ok.

Am I ok?

Do I look ok?

Am I healthy?

Should I try to lose weight, just a little, again?

But then I think, actually, I am happy right now.

Last April, when I stepped on the scales it had hit 11 stone.  The last time I was that weight, I was pregnant with a child. This was not good.  So I embarked on a diet regime.  I followed the Juice Plus+ diet, detox, for 2 weeks then the replacement shakes/meals combo, along with exercise.  I did well. I lost over a stone, got to 9 and a half stone in fact, and I did feel good! At the wedding we had last summer, everyone commented on how well I looked, and it felt wonderful!

But was it manageable to sustain?  I tried, but it slowly crept back on, just a little, to just under, on or just over 10 stone.  And I am not exercising like before, I don’t have the energy to be honest, but, you know what, I feel good!  I am eating sensibly, but still have my naughty moments. I’m not a big drinker so those empty calories are not a problem for me.  Yes, there is the fact that I have lost the lovely toned belly which I managed to acquire, but let’s be honest, I am not a 100 sit up a day girl, and I like my food too much!

So, without being  hungry, and still looing reasonable, I have decided that my ‘happy weight’ is around 10 stone.

And though I should be careful too, I will embrace my mummy tummy!

(I’m sure once the mornings lighten up, I will try a bit of exercise, but not like last year!)

What would you do?

Today's front page of The Sun

There has been an awful incident in Spain. A man is in jail for killing a man.
So, these things happen, we all know that. Punishment where punishment is due.

This case hit home a little closer as the accused is known to people I know. I’ve seen him, never met him.

But the situation it occurred in, now that’s a different matter.

The victim, if you could call him that, was a suspected paedophile, who already had a case open against him for possessing child pornography.

The accused, a father, who noticed him taking pictures of his children without permission, and despite being asked to refrain from taking pictures, he continued.

I don’t have the full details but, as always with cases like these, details vary. Allegedly, the accused took the iPad from the ‘victim’ to delete the pictures and saw older pictures which were of a pornographic nature of other children, and he flipped.

Some say it was one frustrated angry punch from a protective father, who then left with his family. Other reports said in excess of 10 punches were thrown at the ‘victim’ and he was dragged around. He later died in hospital.

The accused is now held in jail in Spain, awaiting his hearing.

That, at the moment, is all I know, but what do you think?
How would you react in this situation?
Was he wrong to want to protect his children from a possibly dangerous, sick man?
Should he have just ignored it?
Had a shouting match?
A civilized conversation?

If that was me, as a parent, I would be fuming. I know my Hubby Dearest’s blood would boil too. Possibly a physical reaction would occur.

I would never wish anyone dead, but I can’t condone that kind of sick behaviour of the ‘victim’.

(Incidentally, the paper in the picture, was more interested in the ‘victim’s’ connection with Katie Price than the actual story. The accused got a paragraph mention…)
