I only posted an acceptance of this particular award last night, and lo and behold who should come visiting again???

Uh Oh! I had this problem yesterday… What can I tell you about myself??!!

7 facts about The Ritu!

I am a Hottie! And by that I am by no means bigging myself up! I am really a ‘hot’ person, and I can’t cope in the heat1 I get sticky and sweaty with the mildest of heat, and it ain’t a pretty sight, lol! And I have just realised that my dear daughter is the same… try washing and drying thigh length, thick hair every day… she gets so hot, her hair is saturated by the end of the day!
I had laser eye surgery around 5 years ago… and it was the best thing ever! I wish I had had it done sooner, but I don’t know now I managed with glasses for so long!
I went to Jamaica and swam with dolphins, one of my items on my bucket list! I swam with one called Skye, and it was amazing!
I love ironing! Yup, I know I am strange, but it’s true! but men’s formal trousers, and me, we don’t go! I manage to add several creases where there should be one sharp one!
I met my hubby at university, and he was younger than me… yup, I bagged myself a toyboy! And you know what they say, you’re only as old and the man you feel! ;P
I love to eat watermelon! Don’t you just love that crisp, fresh taste? Mmmmm….. oh, I could do with some right now!
I’d love to write a successful children’s book, and go on to write more… then travel around doing workshops with school children, to inspire writing!

Sunday mornings… Wish I could wake leisurely… But with kids, when is that an option?!?!

Still, I woke to a hungry daughter and cat, and a thirst for water… It had been a hot night! And so naturally I checked my notifications and reader out.., and look what I found!

Opened an unsuspecting post, and what should I find in it??!! Another sneaky award nomination, from my blog sis Erika! Thank you, you wonderful woman! Love you lots! The questions for me to answer

If resources were unlimited, would you rather have every book ever written, or every movie, or every song?

Every book written, as I could imagine the movies through the words, and sing songs or hum music to my self!

What’s something fictional that you wish was real or could be real someday?

No brainer! The edible room in Charlie and the Chocolate factory, as per the Gene wilder version of the film!!!

If you had to change identities and start over: would you be someone completely different or about the same.

I think the person I am right now, is the person I’d want to be… maybe I might have handled situations differently, or gone about things a different way, but I am pretty happy being me!

When watching a good movie at home, what do you eat and or drink?

I have to say I love a coke, and sweet popcorn, freshly popped, or crisps, chocolate… heck, I’d eat anything!!

When reading a good book, what do you eat or drink?

Very little as I am usually pretty engrossed in the book, but I always have water by my side, and may nibble on sweets or crisps…

What’s your favorite slang term (explain it please)?

Innit!! Meaning Is it not? as in an agreement, very London and Essex, a term that seems to have been adopted by the West London and Essex Indians! I would say it all the time when at university, and though I have trained myself not to now, (not that professional, is it?!) I still have to say it!!!

What’s currently your favorite hashtag?

Sorry, I am a bit old school not up to date with hashtagging!

If your life story was going to be told would you want to: publish a diary or journal, write your autobiography, or hand-pick someone to write your biography for you?

I think I would have to write it myself, there is too much to sit and go through with someone else, and only I know how I felt at any one time!

Easy peasy! Happiness is key!

My Questions To Answer

1. What would you say is your starlight gift for others?

I’d like to think my starlight gift is the ability to show others that you can be positive, in all situations, and a smile can help many things feel not so bad.

2. What type of music do you enjoy?

Music, is one of my life bloods, I love so many tyoes of music, from Bhangra, and Bollywood, to Sufi and Qawaalis. Pop, and Dance, th Hip Hop, Swing, R’n’B, Reggae and Rap! 60’s and 70’s, Disco and Soul… what do I say, I love many types of music!

3. What is one healthy habit you wish you could develop?

I should drink much more water! I know I should, and last year, I was drinking 3 litres a day, but somehow I got out of the habit, and I know I need to get back into it1

My Purpose In Blogging
What is my purpose in blogging?
Well, I love words, for a start. Reading them, writing them, and learning about them. It was an ambition for me to write a book … Any book. I started a novel, I’ve written some poetry based children’s stories… But it hasn’t gone any further, and in my life, there was not much place for my literary dreams to go anywhere.
Then I discovered blogging, quite by accident!
A friend started a blog to air some issues in her past, and clear her mind, and in order for me to comment, it tempted me to sign in, or sign up…. And so I did!
All of a sudden this blog was born. What I wanted it for I had no idea!
Slowly, I wrote different things, from my life, to creative, to opinions, humour, and not forgetting Sonu Singh!
The encouragement I received over the last 7 months, from the blogs above, and so many others, made my pen (read fingers!) flow, and so But I Smile Any way was born.
My blog has allowed me to reminisce, make you laugh, think, go ‘Awww!’ and given me the opportunity to meet and build relationships with fellow blog-pals around the world!
I thank you all for giving me the inspiration to continue to write, and maybe that lifelong dream of mine, to be published… Might even come true too!

And I’d like to pass the thunder on to…
