Scared
Empty
Needing help
Haunting spirits
Age old memories
Looking over shoulders
Strangers always enemies
Unable to ever let go
No touch can heal the scars left behind
All relationships tainted, forever

I thank God I have not been in the situation that many women are opening up about, but here is my tribute to those ladies that have been affected by abuse of some kind or another, and then felt they could never open up about it.

Gone
No more
Complexion
Takes on a hue
Saved for the lifeless
An eerie calm settles
No pain for you anymore
Yet for those of us left behind
The ones who’ll never see you again
The suffering has only just begun
