Flash Fiction Foray #33 ‘Sh-Boom’

I love Matt’s prompt this week! It’s a song I can croon along to!

Neon Music Sign

The The Crew Cuts’ Sh-Boom.

I have definitely used a little creative licence here, there is no truth to this at all… Well, I don’t know, but it’s just how the story turned out!

“Life could be a dream, sweetheart,” Benny said, “you just gotta trust me.”
Frankie looked over the figures in front of her and glanced at him. He had his heart set on this.  But it meant their savings being ploughed into something she wasn’t sure of.
He was a good cook, yeah, and she could be the hostess with the mostess, but was he really good? And could she entertain a room fulla folks?
Only time would tell…
Six months later, they unveiled Frankie & Benny’s.
Years later she thought back to that day. Thank God she had trusted him…

FFF #32 – Still In Love With You

Oh I do love this challenge! So glad to have you back Matt!

Neon Music Sign

This week’s edition will be on (drumroll please)… the wacky, brilliant, Still in Love with You from Electro Velvet. Feel free to base responses of anything to do with the song, I always enjoy any different takes! 100 words please!

She waved goodbye to the last few punters, blowing a kiss to them, as they slurred how much they loved her. It was always the same. Susie just had that personality. Flirtatious. And it was a money spinner in this trade.  She always managed to sell a few more drinks.  Her cleavage was something of an attraction to the local lads.
Tim stood in the doorway that led up to their flat above the pub that they ran. “Oh don’t look at me like that babe! You know I’m still in love with you! It’s just a little friendly banter!”

FFF31 – Monster

After a loooong time, Matt The Book Blogger is back with his weekly Flas Fiction Foray musical prompts for a 100 word flash fiction piece.

Neon Music Sign

The song is Inner Dragon’s Monster, not a song I had heard before…

Looking at the back of my hands, covered in coarse hair, I felt my blood boil.
What did I do to deserve this?
I curse the family into which I was born, where we all were suffering the same affliction. We were always told to stick together, because no one would understand…
Every month, as the full moon came out, my transformation began.  I had to hide. No one could know my secret.
It had put a stop to any possible relationships, after all which guy in their right mind would be able to cope with dating a monster like me?

FFF #29 – Death Of A Bachelor

Matt has set us another interesting song prompt for this week’s Flash Fiction Foray (FFF). The song ‘Death of a Bachelor’ by Panic! At The Disco. Check out the prompt here.

Death Of A Bachelor
It suddenly hit me, the other day.
I’d been single for a heck of a long time, and then I met Priya.
We hit it off immediately, and carried away on the waves of passion, it wasn’t long before we ended up promising ourselves to each other, forever.
So next week, we were finally taking the plunge, and I was giving it all up: the nights out with the lads, eating whatever I wanted, having the whole bed to myself, no answering to anyone…
The death of a bachelor…
Yet I was glad…
It heralded the birth of a husband.

Hope you enjoyed it!

FFF #28 – Can’t Help Falling In Love (With You)

Tuesday, and time for me to hit the Flash Fiction Challenge by Matt The Book Blogger! Check out the original challenge here.

This time our prompt song is Can’t Help Falling In Love – by Haley Reinhart. A beautiful song, but I love the rendition by UB40! Fellow Brummies, after all!

And so it goes… (not a romantic piece this week, though I love this song so much and it should conjour  up romance… but a little twist!)

Womanly Wiles

Oh I know how it works. Got it down to a fine art now.

That gentle sway of the hips, the coy stare, that fleeting smile.

It doesn’t take much.

A few fawning words, flattery… I have them eating out of my hand within no time.

They just can’t help falling in love with me…

They want to protect me, to spoil me.

I’m not going to stop them, it’s a pretty good set up I have.

All my needs get catered for, material and sexual.

Emotional? I don’t have a heart, feelings mean nothing to me.

Men.

Stupid creatures.

Ritu 2016

Hope you enjoyed it!
