Like A Boss! – Kids Logic Part 31

Do you ever have those days where something, a phrase, or even a song gets stuck in your head…?
The kids love watching Cartoon Network nowadays, and there is one programme, The Regular Show, that they watch loads.
At the moment they are advertising a Regular Show weekend special constantly, and tag line, which is repeated again and again, is the main character does [something] ‘like a boss!’ .
It’s called the Like A Boss weekend I think!
Anyway, I saw this advert as I was leaving home this morning, and all the way to school it was going around my head…

“Driving my car, like a Boss!” ,
“I’m opening the gate, like a Boss!“, “Putting my bags away, like a Boss!“…

You get my drift… Annoying as heck, but it just trips off the tongue!
We got in my classroom and I said “Like a Boss!” much to the amusement of my colleagues! I explained the origin and carried on with my preparations.
Lil Princess was with me, so we went off to her classroom to drop off her things.

Me: Walking down the corridor, like a Boss!
LP : Mummy! Stop it!
Me: What? Why?
LP: You’re embarrassing me!!

Embarrassing my child, like a Boss!!!!!

My 7 year old was embarrassed by me!
Success!
My efforts as a mother are not going to vain!!!!!
Like A Boss!!!!

But I Smile Anyway...

Normal – Kids Logic Part 29

It’s not just my kids that inspire me… I have a pupil in my class, I’ll call her E. She is the funniest lil thing. But she doesn’t realise it!

She hates smiley faces, like hates them! One day she came up to me, very upset.

Me: What’s the matter E?
E: G drew on my picture
Me: Why did she do that? What did she draw?
E: A smiley face!
Me: Aw, that’s not so bad E! Us teachers draw smiley faces when you do something we like, maybe she liked your drawing!
E: But I don’t like smiley faces!
Me: Not even a smiley face sticker?
E: No.
Me: Ok, so, if I got you a sticker with words or numbers, you’d like that?
E: Yes.

She says this with a deadpan face, no smile on her own mug either!

Actually, if you smile at her, she really won’t smile back.. I have a thing now, if she does great stuff for me, I sort of blow my cheeks out and make a face at her which makes her laugh! She knows she’s done good, and I get a positive reaction from her!

Anyway, back to the title.

One day we were discussing accents and languages

E: I don’t know what L is saying (L is Polish)
Me: it’s because she’s speaking her own language, she might not understand you sometimes when you speak English
E: I don’t speak English.
Me: Yes you do!
E: No I don’t!
Me: you’re speaking it now!
E: I don’t speak English!
Me: Ok E, what do,you speak then?
E: Normal. I speak normal.

Left Over – Kids Logic Part 28

Flashback to 3 years ago…

Lil Man and his uncle were playing, and Lil Princess was sat, looking very glum, next to them.

Me: What’s the matter, Lil Princess?

LP: [looking mournfully over] I’m feeling very left over!

Bless her, I gave her a cuddle, and we used that one as our take on feeling ‘left out’ for ages!

Cat Joke – Kids Logic Part 27

The other day we were taking Sonu Singh, our beaut of a kitty for his yearly check up… He miaowed all the way there, and Lil Man, who is a great fan of cars at the moment, said “It’s ok mummy, he’s just naming all the cars like I do!”

Then came his newly made up joke…. For him anyway!

LM: Mum! What’s a cats favourite car?
Me: I don’t know son.
LM: A Mi-Audi!

He was so pleased with himself!

Posh Food – Kids Logic Part 26

So Lil Princess sits at the dinner table, messing with her food, annoyingly fussy eater that she is…

Me: LP eat up
LP: I am!
Me: No you’re not!
LP: I am! I’m eating the smoke, like posh people!
Me: (looks over to see her wafting her spoon over the steam, and ‘eating’ it) Where did you see that?

I expected a foody answer, we watch lots of cookery and foody programmes. Maybe Heston Blumenthal’s scientifically experimental cooking has inspired her…

LP: On Ben and Holly!

Oh… That great font of food knowledge!!! (Not!!!)
Not a parent? This is Ben and Holly!
