Snow Day! | But I Smile Anyway...

I know it’s meant to be one line, but you know me, I do tend to break rules!

The whole time I’ve been blogging, I have wished for the kind of snow that requires a snow day or two. Christmas with the white stuff would be so good!

Well, (not the Christmas bit) my wish came true! The Beast From The East is the gift that keeps on giving!

Woke today to another few inches. Whiteout!

The kids’ schools are closed. Hubby Dearest can’t risk going to work because of the small country lanes he has to traverse to get there… so Snow Day it is!

And me? Well, as you know, I was signed off this week anyway, so any chance of R and R … all gone!

Snow! We Have Snow!!!

I can’t quite contain my excitement Peeps!

I know it’s not much, yet, and probably won’t amount to much, but we finally have snow!

We had a sprinkling a couple of years ago that melted within hours, and wasn;t sufficient for the kids to play with. The last time we had any snow of significance, was 6 years ago.

Today I drove home in a mini blizzard!

There is a couple of centimetres now…

The footprints of the kids covered up within 20 minutes of them stepping out in the crisp new snow! Oh boy, are they excited! Already deciding what they will do with this unexpected day off that they are thinking they will get!

Not sure how to break this to them that school will be on… It is not likely to snow all night. But more likely to ice over, and just be treacherous for us to drive in!

But I guess we can all dream of a snow day, and the hope that we get to stay at home for a bonus extra day!!!
