Thursday Photo Prompt – Liminal– #writephoto

Another intriguing photo prompt from Sue this week, and I got to educate myself too! What is Liminal, I asked myself?

Liminal is an English adjective, “on the threshold,” from Latin limen, plural limina, “threshold.” Liminality is the abstract noun formed from limina.

Thank you Wikipedia!

So… the photo…

And my tanka for this week.

We’re on the threshold
Which adventure lies within?
Mystery indeed
An other-worldly portal
Or just a simple cavern?
