#SoCS Jan. 20/18 – #JusJoJan Day 20 – Oc

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “oc.” Find a word that starts with “oc” and use it in your post. Bonus points if you start and end with your post with an “oc” word. Have fun!

Occasionally, I wonder what it would have been like to have been the mother of multiple birth babies, you know, twins.

The year I was married we had 3 sets born in our family and close friends. I have a set of cousins who are twins, and their sister gave birth to 2 sets as well.

After marriage, one of my cousin’s daughters fancied herself as a palmist, and read my palm, telling me I would have triplets!

Obviously that didn’t happen!

But is it double the fun? Or double trouble? It would be 100% a full time occupation!

There are so many hardships: the expense, the lack of time and arms, the tiredness, the juggling schedules… but the joys you get are also double, and if you were looking for a ready-made family, then getting two for one is a perfect deal!

Triplets or any more would just be being greedy, and as for that mum who had eight – Octomum – that’s just crazy… octuplets!

That’s it for me today!

Happy Saturday Peeps!

I think having twins would have been nice… and in my case, nicer than never being able to have another child. I was an only for a long time (my only brother is almost 10 yrs younger than me), and I wish I could have spared my son the same childhood. It’s not as bad when you’re surrounded by houses and people, but… out in the country…

Though, yeah, it would be a seriously challenging couple of years. 😀

We have no twins in my family, though my cousin is married to a twin: her twin brother has Down syndrome. Never realized that could happen. Nice kid, really, and she loves him to death.

One of the weird flukes of adoption is that we could specify if we’d be open to multiples — not like that’s a choice when you get pregnant with twins or triplets! 😉

I would not have liked to have twins, Ritu. One baby at time is more than enough hard work.

Having three kids spaced out is enough of a handful!! I’ve also realised I’m going to have to try and find a word starting and ending in oc now!! Saturday homework lol

I had twins when the eldest daughter was two… a hectic but brilliant time. Only problem was that we didn’t know we were expecting them until they arrived. Had to sell all the lovely new-ish pram we’d had for eldest daughter to buy a second hand baby buggy and buy an extra cot – all in a hurry!!

Are we still doing oc or is it too late or too early? Ocay, let;s go. October was an ocay month. Ocularly speaking, I was surprised to find an octopus playing with the ocelot beside the octagonal occidental Ocala ocean-side spa which was a little too occult for me, being filled with octogenarians. Ocay, it occurs to me I have boo booed which I occasionally do. I’ll just hum “O Can you See…or “O Canada,,,” Ocay? .

    Happy Saturday Ritu!
I fancy the idea of twins…giving birth just once, but getting twice the deal, though I’m not sure I want that, but then it’ll be nice either way.

It’s fantastic and it’s crazy and it’s scary and it’s fun and a million other things. And that’s just before lunch. 😃

My mom is one of a twin so I always wanted to have a set as well. When they were younger it was almost impossible to tell them apart and she said they always had to dress alike. As they got older, their lifestyles added to the change in their appearance. Sadly, I did not have twins, nor did any of my sisters but one of our cousins did.

When I was young and newly married, I thought it would be efficient to have twins and then be done with birthing. After having one baby, I was thankful to have one at a time and a little more time to breathe.
