Charli’s prompt this week:
March 7, 2019, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story about a mouse. It can be real, imagined, electronic or whiskered. Go where the prompt leads!
Mousetrap
The pain.
It sears through my body.
I know no one will find me.
They were all much more sensible, listening to Mummy. I had to be the one who had to go and look.
Curiosity killed the cat. That’s the saying. Not the mouse, the cat.
But it was just so tempting.
I could smell it.
That whiff of cheesiness.
I knew it was out there somewhere.
And I found it too.
Sat there, right in front of me, was a huge chunk of the best cheddar.
How was I to know it was on a state-of-the-art mousetrap?

Poor 🐁. Remember, in pest control, exclusion is much better than extermination!

I know… poor mouse, but the end for a lot of them who decide to invade our houses! (Thankfully we don’t have any, as we have Sonu Singh, the Punjabi cat!)

Aw, that wee mousey. I love your play with the phrase “curiosity killed the cat.” Clever and worthy of empathy for mice, Ritu.

Thank you Charli!
Though I am not happy with certain mice for eating their way through my Pooh Bear beanie collection, which was worth quite a bit, while in my parents garage as storage, I still feel for those teeny beings 💜

Seems Sonu is more Mr. Cat, than a real mouse hunter. Lol Wonderful written story. How to imagine the mouse will be cought by a trapp, if a cat is in da house. 😉 Have a nice weekend, Sis! Michael

You should buy some toy mice, and do a test. A cat, especially a cat man has to know how to act against mice. Lol

Our last cat tried to bring mice from outdoors into the house, for playing purposes. At least he got / we gave him some camping days in the garden.;-)

That mouse was my fear
But despite all
I could see it clear
How it just was hitting the wall
I would not let it get near
To my h art to my soul
So with time, it’s just dissapear
So I almost forgot about it all
