Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 219

img_00411

Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.” Anonymous.

I needed that reminder today Spidey!

I find myself needing a whole lot of patience at the moment, what with a teen and tween, busy work schedule, as well as an invalid Hubby Dearest at home who, if he was mobile, would be climbing the walls, and is suffering cabin fever as he can’t get out and about at all.

Usually, I can keep up with everything, but at the moment, as well as what I usually do, I am being solo taxi for all the activities that the kids have, as well as for Hubby, when he needs to have a change of scenery.

I don’t sleep soundly as I am constantly on alert incase he needs anything in the middle of the night.

And of course, I can’t forget Sonu Singh.

Since he’s been on his diet, he has suddenly become more aware of the earlier daylight and will start his miaowing and call for food from 5am…

All this makes for a rather tired Ritu, and I will fall asleep early(ish) for a fitful hours, before waking, and waiting for His Lordship to get upstairs too, then sleep. On the weekend, the moments I get to sit down end up with me snoozing at the wrong times, and then I wake in a panic as I have to get the kids someplace at a certain time.

Then there is the inevitability that one of them will have forgotten something, making my journey twice as long…

Then, well, anything at all, however little will be like the straw that broke the camels back, and I explode! It’s like any patience I have had with invalid and annoying youngsters vanishes!

It’s not just Momster that comes out but an emotional wreck who gets teary too…

But if I had a little patience, and took a step back, thought about what I needed to do, the hows and wheres and whyfors, I’d be able to cope.

Easy to say… But I’ll try to do!

So… tell me, are you patient?

Ritu, I would not be patient if I were in your shoes. I hope you can find the time to get some good sleep.

I TRY to be patient always, but it depends on the day, time and how I’m feeling. We all try, but our humanness sometimes gets in the way. Don’t kick yourself if you can’t be like Spidey!

Ritu it’s so difficult being chief cook and bottle washer when your other half is out of action. I promise that it will not be for ever. Been there and done it so I am not fibbing 💜💜

Am I patient? An interesting question. I am patient with my children and old people. I am not patient with work colleagues. So where does that leave me?

I feel for you as I am not a patient person either, at least not at home. Hang in there. It will get better, I’m sure. An excellent quote!

I am patient and I try not to let it turn into complacency. You get through these trying times Sister and there will be an abundance of good ones waiting for you 🤗

I’m not patient at all. I do try but I do lose my cool. It’s something I want to tackle as I become a Mam for the first time. I just get frustrated I think. At myself for losing my patience and at others.

I’m not surprised you’re lacking in patience an a bit teary at the moment. You’re carrying a heavy burden. Look after yourself.

No, I’m not, Ritu. I have a short fuse, but I’ve been working on it. Under the circumstances, you shouldn’t beat yourself up over it. One person taking care of three, plus yourself (I hope), can be more exhausting than anything. Find time for you. It’s important for your own well being. ❤
