Yearning #writephoto

Sue’s #WritePhoto Prompt:

a channel of water flowing out to sea, with the sun reflecting on the water.

“It’s no good, you know.”
“What?”
“Sitting there, moping.”
“I’m not.”
“Yes, you are. I can see it in your eyes.”
“What? What can you see?”
“Yearning.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It’s not coming back, son.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Dad.”
“That boat. It was a most splendid boat. But it’s gone now…”
“It took me hours to fold it, Dad. I wanted to make the best paper boat ever.”
“I know. But it was exactly that. Paper. Once it hits the water, it begins to disintegrate. It’s not coming back now. Nevermind. You can make another.”
“Yeah, and this time, I’m not sailing it!”

Perfect life metaphor really. We spend ages putting heart and soul into things and it all ends up as pulp…

A tender moment between father and son. The supposed reality of the situation and the hopefulness held on too.

That is thought-provoking in many ways, sis! Shall we never risk something because it could not work out or shall we think better before we make decisions… Another point where father and son can learn from each other. Great take, sis!!
