Today, it took us an hour to get home. Double the time it usually takes.
As we got off the motorway, we noticed a low flying search helicopter, flashing its searchlight around.
Didn’t realise they were looking at something on our route home. A sudden road closure with Police all around, meant we had to veer off onto an unknown country road. I quickly tapped our address in and at least it gave us a different route home!
It’s been a while since I took part in Linda’s JusJoJan month-long prompts, but, since I vowed to be creative, here goes!
Today is January 18th, so this is the 18th prompt for Just Jot it January 2022, and it’s brought to us by JoAnna. Thank you, JoAnna! Please be sure to visit her blog to read her post and say hello. And follow her while you’re there, if you’re not already.
Your prompt for JusJoJan January 18th, 2022, is “cycle.” Use the word “cycle” any way you’d like. Have fun!
(In advance, sorry readers of the male persuasion!)
My cycle is all up the Swannee, right now, if I can be quite frank.
It was never particularly regular before, but that was all thanks to the beauty of having Polycystic Ovaries.
Right now, I don’t know what it’s doing, but I have a vague idea…
I believe it may be gearing up for that coming to the end of your cycles moment… the big M!
Still, because there is no real regularity, I have no idea.
What I do know is that I feel sorry for the males in the house, because, between a perimenopausal woman and a teen who is getting the worst PMT, they will have hormones causing ups and downs all over the show!

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 16th, 2022, is “ridiculous.” Use the word “ridiculous” any way you’d like. Have fun!
My mind is blank.
And that is just ridiculous, isn’t it?
It probably doesn’t help that I have been sitting at my desk on and off since 11am, reading the 61K that I already have written on book 2, ready to really go at finishing this manuscript, after an early wake-up call from my brother and Finndian nephews at 7.30am on a Sunday, followed by cleaning the house as I was wide awake.
But now, I am definitely ready for a chance to cuddle up on the sofa with a nice, hot drink, and my Kindle.
Hopefully, I’ll be back to more enlightening posts, tomorrow!
Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “a rainy day.” Write about the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the phrase “a rainy day.” Enjoy!
When I wake up and hear the pitter-patter of raindrops, my thoughts of the forthcoming rainy day truly depend on the day.
If it is term time, and the heavens have opened, I rue it.
Wet play.
The kids are wild. Half the equipment is unusable as it becomes too dangerous and slippery. Wet coats are hung up around the room.
Driving in certain rainfall isn’t great, either. Now we live in the countryside, there are roads that get flooded, meaning a journey that takes even longer as I navigate routes.
All in all, rain on a school day is pure STRESS!
Now if it was a weekend, and we had no plans, then, perfect.
You’d find me curled up on the armchair, or snuggled in bed, with a hot drink and my latest read.
