Another laundry disaster!

I pulled out my washing from the dryer yesterday… And noticed a lovely yellow hue on certain items, including 8 kids vests, one white tee-shirt, a pair of Hubby Dearest’s sicks, and four school shirts…

The victims!

Damn that yellow belt! Lil Man passed his karate grading and is now a yellow belt, and, as with all his belts, I washed it to soften it for tying next week.

The culprit?

Then as I continued the unload process, I located the real problem… Not any one else, but my fault!
I love wearing katengas to bed as it gets warmer, Kenyan kaftans and they are usually tie dyed… Not with color fast dye… And one was in the load…

Guilty! The offending article!

Ooooops!!

The Wanton Wit of A Little Lady

We had a lovely evening meal out today, my colleagues and I, celebrating the impending retirement of one, and the up coming 30th birthdays of two lovely ladies!

It was one of those Chinese order what you want, buffet style restaurants, piping hot fresh food for a set price.

Today is my veggie day, Tuesday… (Don’t ask, I’ll explain in another post!) so I, along with three others, ordered the vegetarian starter platter, with spring rolls, seaweed, mushrooms, tofu, crispy wantons…

Well it was all lovely until I came across the wantons, which were essentially filo pastry, folded up like a wanton… But transparent… Nothing in there! Literally just the pastry! As I bit into one, the wanton flaking around my mouth, my pocket sized, soon to be 30 friend, piped up “Crispy Wanton? More like Crispy wanton-Earth is this!!!”

Love the quick wit of my dear friends!!

Oh, and did I mention the vegetarian selection included Monk Duck and Monk Chicken… So… Is that duck and chicken fed purely on a vegetarian diet? Celibate duck or chicken? No, it was a Tofu style dish made to look like, and taste like either duck or chicken! Mock Duck or Mock Chicken more like!!!!

Choices

true….

And don’t you forget it!! 😁😁

Sorry, but its so true!

I LOVE this!!!

But I Smile Anyway...

Oh God! She’s dressing up again!!!!

You know I mentioned how I love to dress up, whenever there’s an opportunity? (If you missed that post, here I am making a fool out of myself, as usual!)

Well, I came across some pictures from a couple of family functions where we all dressed up!  I can’t shame the others, I’m not sure they’d talk to me after, but at one of me nephew’s weddings we had an International theme, but a few of us girls thought it would be great to just cross dress! My Precious Pops tied our turbans, we wore the traditional Lunghis or Kurta Pyjamas that a man wears… liberating to be a man for the evening!

Bhangra King(Queen)!

Bhangra King(Queen)!

Yup, that’s me!

And then I had my choice of the ladies too! One very happy Mr Singh, I was that evening!

Which one, which one?

Which one, which one?

So enough of me looking like a fool!  At my niece’s wedding we raided our mother’s wardrobes, and found old 60’s/70’s sarees and outfits to wear!  I think this was way more flattering than the above!!

60's Bollywood queen!

60’s Bollywood queen!

What do you like to dress up as?  Do you even like dressing up? I’d love to see some pics! Maybe post them, and ping back to my post!! Go, on… be brave!!!!!
