Thursday Photo Prompt – The Glade #writephoto

Sue has given us a beautiful moss covered glade as a prompt for this week’s challenge.

Use the image to create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humour… by Wednesday 25th May and link back to this post with a pingback. Please make sure that the pingback works and if not, copy and paste your link into the comments section of this post.

dancing trees

A tanka from me today.

A russet carpet
Upon which lay stepping stones
Of deep emerald green
“Come to me,” the sun invites
“tread the path that no one has…”

RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #97 Magic&Glimmer

Monday night and it is time for a haiku challenge, thanks to Lovely Ron!

Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge Image.

Sorry, no images today to complement the Haiku, but I was a little tied up!

Eyes

Just a flash of those
Bewitchingly feline eyes
Take my breath away

Hope

All it takes
A glimmer of hope
Pure magic

Voodoo Dolls

Painfully sharp pins
Twinkle as I push them in
Voodoo dolls are great!

Write a Limerick Day Has Passed But…

I didn’t forget… I penned two then ended up with such an awful headache, that I couldn’t switch on my Surface to post them. Then I had a wedding to attend so I am finally here, posting them two days late, but they were definitely written on the correct day! Better late than never eh!

Thanks to Annette for letting me know it was National Limerick Day!

NationalLimerick

My Blog Sis Judy is quite partial to a limerick too, and you should check out her entry here too!

Ok, so without further ado…. here are my efforts!

Wanted to write a limerick
But none of the words seem to stick
Then hit inspiration
Following pure frustration
And I penned this one pretty quick!

And it wouldn’t be complete without a traditional style of limerick!

There was a young lady called Moll
Who tended to look rather droll
Then she had a make over
Became quite a go-er
Looking like a true Barbie doll!

RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #96 Lightning&Rain

Monday evening… you guessed it, Lovely Ron’s Haiku Challenge! Check it out here.

The prompt words:

Lightning & Rain

I came up with 4… 3 haiku and one tanka.. The obvious subjects would be weather…

rain 1

The feeling of rain
Quenching a thirst that’s unknown
After lightning strikes

Ritu 2016

rain

When it rains it pours
Lightning will never strike twice
So the sayings go

Ritu 2016

rain 3

A flash of lightning
After thunder rolls above
The Heavens open
Intense, the relief of rain
Easing pressures in the sky

Ritu 2016

Then one not about the state of the world outside…

Rain runner

Like lightning, she ran
Compliments rained upon her
Victory was hers

Apologies if there are any errors, I am posting this as a tired mummy/teacher!

#SoCS May 7/16 – Apparent/A Parent

The prompt word – Apparent or A Parent

My thoughts….

A Parent

Apparently I’m a parent
I should show you what to do
Apparently I’m a parent
A good example to you

From the early years of food and poops
And sleeping in your bed
Through school and education
Show you how to use your head

I should teach you how to talk
And always speak with respect
Think of what you want to do
And teach you how to reflect

Be there to support you
To lift you when you fall
To always show compassion
And do good to all

But sometimes I may slip a little
And not be all the above
Yet still I’ll try and guide you
With lots of mummy love

Apparently I’m a parent
I should show you what to do
Apparently I’m a parent
A good example to you
