Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 222

“If you’re tired, learn to rest, not quit.” – Anon

Thank you Spidey. Apt for me right now!

It’s been an exhausting few weeks, what with being the taxi for the whole household, dealing with Hopalong Hubby, the kids and their myriad activites that they need be be at, struggling with switching off at home because of everything that needs to be done, reading and writing, for the blog as well as looking at the WIP, along with a tiring term at school where assessments, reports, and the beginnings of preparations for next year are about to commence, and coupled with a wonderful yet busy weekend away at the beginning to see my brother… I am totally done!

Sometimes it feels like the easy way. To think, I can’t do this any more, and give up. No more blog, no more writing, no more stress at work. ( I can’t give up being a wife or mum!)

But I can’t do that.

All these things are what make me, me!

Instead a break is what is needed. And perfectly timed, my school mid term break has arrived. Two weeks of not having to wake too early, and peace from school at least. Though there are still reports to write, I can switch off from that side for a while. I’ll carry on doing all the other things, but at a more relaxed pace… And enjoy them all too!

So… tell me, what do you need to take a break from?

Since I am retired, I am always on break. What I need this summer is a job!

I would definitely like to take a break from being my kids’ taxi, and I will get that break over the summer, which’ll be here soon enough. I’m excited to not have to spend two hours of every day in the car!

Wise words indeed. And absolutely, breaks are so important. Rest & recuperate, make any adjustments needed to make things more manageable, then get back up when you’re ready and keep going. xx

Honestly Ritu, you’re amazing, I have no idea how you do it all. Writing and reading keep me going too, sometimes when I think of stopping, I know I can’t, there’s something inside of me that won’t let me. Like I said you’re amazing.

I’m just back from a lovely weeks holiday in Montreal. Like you I so needed a break! Can’t say I’m looking forward to going back to work on Tuesday but at least I have the long bank holiday to recover from my jet lag! Hope you get some time to rest Ritu. 🙂

Definitely one for me these weeks… I am only functioning in order to make fit everything in. But thank God, a few tasks are done and I can focus on the last (when even big) one. I think by the end of July my life may be back on a regular basis…

I just need some peace but like you Sis it isn’t going to happen. I often wish I had time on my own but if that happened I probably would not be any happier. I think sometimes we need to look inside ourselves and change our attitude to life. It is not easy but we need to be more relaxed things get done. Not always our stuff but life will just plod on 💜

It is not easy juggling so many things, Ritu. I have the same problems. After my three-month Hell on earth at work recently, I also have felt tired. Fortunately, writing rejuvenates me so that helps.
