Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 360 – Catch Up

img_00411

“Set impossible challenges. Then catch up with them.”

Richard Branson

I know I missed a few personal deadlines, Spidey, no need to rub it in!

Sometimes life itself feels like an impossible challenge, but we have to rise to whatever is thrown at us, don’t we?

The last week, I feel like I have been playing catch up with myself the whole week, if I’m honest.

What with feeling unwell, headaches lingering, a sore throat, and worrying that Covid had caught up with me, along with absences at work, and playing staff chess, moving people around to ensure the place was sufficiently staffed, along with trying to keep up with my housework chores plan, and try and get to my laptop daily… it’s been quite a week!

There were definitely some days when I thought my plans were impossible, however, I managed to keep on top of pretty much all of them.

The only one I am dubious of completing is that I promised myself that I would add 2k words to the MS this weekend. So far, I am at 0 because I needed a day of being extremely self-centred, as I wasn’t feeling well on Saturday. But, if I am doing as I hope, I will try and write in the morning when the family is still asleep, and I am awake, and again in the afternoon when Lil Man goes for cricket training.

Fingers crossed I manage to hit a goal that, right now, feels a bit impossible!

So, do you feel like you’re constantly playing catch up?

namaste

Wishing you a wonderfully peaceful Sunday, Peeps!

I know how playing catch up feels .I was there last week, but, TAKE HEART; this week I am all caught up and enjoying a bookish, self-centered Sunday.

Well done, Sis! No way to scold. 😉 Not every week is the same, and playing chess with several appointments is the usual way, in times like these. Have a nice week ahead! xx Michael

You’ve set these goals for yourself, Ritu, so it’s perfectly OK if life gets in the way!

I hope you reach your goal, Sister. With so much going on even cold symptoms can wear you down and linger. Take care 🙏🏽💜

From where I’m sitting, you’re doing just great, Ritu. We expect so much of ourselves, but have to take a deep breath and slow down now and then. Now I’m in the late ‘octo’ region…I sometimes think back to when I was your age and am filled with wonder at what I did. (You’ll do that too…I promise!) It’s a good feeling.to compensate for the too- speedy passing of the years!! Keep well. xx.

There are our plans and there is life. But as long as we have plans, we have chances to get them done. If not today then for sure tomorrow.

If you had even tried to write on your MS, it probably would not have been very good. A day of R&R makes all the difference.

Ritu, your Branson quote reminds me of a term from my favorite business book called “Built to Last.” One of the tenets of successful companies is BHAGS – Big Hairy Audacious Goals. We set a high bar and then should chase after it. Keith

Absolutely, it’s like the “Aim for the moon. Even if you miss , you’ll still end up among the stars.” Have a great Sunday, Keith!

I started the year with a nasty cold and did almost nothing for a fortnight, so I’m behind on a lot of things. After too many decades of trying to keep going through minor illnesses, I’ve finally learned that allowing myself to get better is the sensible thing. Take care and I hope you feel better soon.

You need Douglas Adams quote on deadlines then (he really is my favourite author) ‘I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.’

I’ve given myself permission to not do it all, and hit the ones I can, and that is enough. your energy and time can be given to rest and relaxation and feeling better.
