#SoCS – April 9, 2022 – How

Linda’s SoCS prompt

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “how.” Use the word “how” in your post. Bonus points if you start your post with it. Enjoy!

How is it that even though I have had a week off and spent the majority of that time in bed, reading or dozing, I am STILL TIRED?

I tell you, Post Covid fatigue is a THING!

I feel like I’m having to explain myself to the rest of the household when I say that I need an afternoon nap, not because I am being a lazy lump. but because I cannot function without it!

Seriously, how do you explain the tiredness to someone who hasn’t experienced it? (And, I mean, I am thankful that none of them succumbed to Covid, but still, a little sympathy, PLEASE!)

Thank goodness you had a week off! Covid tired is like an old heavy blanket. It doesn’t shake off for a long while. Our children were both hit like you, and it took a few weeks for them to feel okay. They both lost their sense of smell, too.

Dear Ritu, I know this tiredness is happening, one of my neighbour in the village was like that. Covid-19 really strong one and hits badly… people can’t understand this. Take a rest, everything will be as before. Love, nia

That fatigue really is deeper than anything I’d ever experienced before! Rest when you must, for sure.

Give it time, Ritu. I have not had Covid, but suffered a bout of pneumonia years ago. It put me down for two weeks, then I had to struggle with tiredness for 2-3 weeks with recovery. The first week back at work, I could only put in so many hours and then had to go home and lay down. I imagine you are having similar issues, so feel free to show your household my comment. Your tiredness is real, so please take naps and rest as much as possible. Your body needs it.

I think being tired (when the clock says you shouldn’t be) is one of the hardest things to explain. I hope your energy returns, Ritu.

Why not Sis? Sleeping is always the best, and at school there are too many human alarm clocks around. Lol Best wishes, and enjoy a great weekend! xx Michael
P.S.: It really seems this tiredness is coming from the booster, but i will not accept and fight against with coffee. 😉

In my case fatigue is mostly due to old age but I get what you mean. I hope you find strength with each new day.

You have my sympathy. Fatigue, for any reason is real. When my Fibro flares, getting out of bed is a chore.
