Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 184 – The End… or is it?

“All good things must come to an end.”

Geoffrey Chaucer

Thanks, Spidey.

Indeed, things are wrapping up for us here now.

I go back to school in teacher mode on Thursday. Where did the holidays go?!

An emergency 10 days in Birmingham with Pops, which was a blessing too, as we had even more bonding time, 2 weeks of keeping the kids occupied, buying school uniforms and discovering the joys of the Wish shopping app (It’s great! Have you tried it?), and then a week away with my family.

And now it’s the last weekend, a long one, as it’s a bank holiday too, (got to name the uniforms!) then two days of tying up loose ends and then back to the grindstone.

But I’m happy.

Because though the holiday will be coming to an end, there will be the challenges of a new academic year, in a newly academised school, new young children and minds to fill with the wonders of the world of learning!

And Lil Man starts his journey to GCSE, whilst Lil Princess will be in her last year of primary too.

It’s a big year, bring it on!

Tell me, what new beginnings are you looking forward to? 😘

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps ❤ And enjoy your week!

“I think togetherness is a very important ingredient to family life.”

Barbera Bush

Thanks, Spidey.

Togetherness really is the epitome of a close-knit family.

I feel blessed to be part of one of those families.

It means you don’t just get together in times of joy, but you rally around when times are tough too.

Just like with my Pops. I was so fortunate that our family is so close, that when I couldn’t be there straight away, there was someone else to help out.

(By the way, many of you asked, Pops is doing so well now. It’s been six weeks since the surgery, and finally, the wound has fully healed and the dressings are off. He’s walking, albeit slower than usual, doing his yoga breathing exercises, but nothing more strenuous, and he has even managed to drive a short distance. thanks to you and all your good wishes, and the care of both family and professionals, he is more or less the Pops of before!)

And now we are off to forge a little togetherness too, our little family of four.

As of tomorrow, we will be officially on holiday. Taking time to be together, just us, and enjoying each others company, as well as some relaxation time.

Don’t worry, I’m making no sweeping statements about not being here because you know me, somehow I’ll still end up writing something, or answering comments 😜

But electronics and social media will be at a minimum (well, that’s the plan, anyway!) and family time will be at the forefront of everything.

We will sit together and eat, do activities together, spend time with each other, and create memories too.

What do you do as a family, to ‘forge a little togetherness’? 😘

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps ❤ And enjoy your week!

“Embrace the glorious mess that you are.”

Elizabeth Gilbert

Thanks, Spidey.

I had a chat with a very close friend recently, involving our current wishes and hopes with regards to our weight, and bodies.

She said, My plan is to love myself… I love myself inside, just need to sort out the outside which is doable!”

And it made me think deeper.

We really do need to love ourselves truly, before we can actually accept that others may love us too.

With that self-love, and acceptance of ourselves, we portray a confidence which shines through.

It doesn’t matter what we look like, how our hair is styled, our size. As long as we are happy, and we like who we are, others will too. And that is inside, as well as out.

If there is something you aren’t happy with, you have the power to change it.

I’m not talking about flaunting yourself physically, expecting compliments, or anything like that. Not this selfie culture. I think they are posted more by insecure people, who need the validation of strangers as to whether they look good. Where the more ‘likes’ you get for your photo, the more popular you are.

That’s not receiving love, neither is it feeling love for yourself.

Self-love is just an internal feeling of being at peace with yourself.

I feel thankful that I do love myself. I accept who I am, and I feel confident to be the real me around everyone. Yes, I complain about my weight, but that is something I can sort out. It doesn’t define me though.

I AM RITU – HEAR ME TYPE!!

Take time out to appreciate the wonderfulness of YOU! Tell me something you love about yourself. 😘

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps ❤

“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”

Dr. Suess

Thanks, Spidey.

I’ll keep it simple.

Cherish every moment of your day, you never know when you’ll feel the need to revisit it…

Enjoying my precious last hours with my parents until I have to get back to my place…

Is there a particular moment which you cherish?

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps ❤

“Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.”

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

Thanks, Spidey.

Is it just me, or do others instinctively think of being at their parents’ house as being ‘home‘?

I may be forty+, married with a Hubby Dearest, children and pets of our own, with a roof over our head that is our home, but nothing can beat the feeling of going ‘home‘.

This building I visit, the house that Pops and Mum live in now, has never been the place I grew up in. In fact, they bought it shortly before I became a mother myself.

Yet it is ‘home‘.

Because of the people who live here, the love they have showered upon my brother and me, and the memories they created for us.

Don’t get me wrong, my own little home is a very special place, and when I am back in my normal life, there is nothing better than pottering around in my home.

But coming ‘home‘ is just the best feeling ever ❤

Which place feels like ‘home‘ to you?

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps ❤
