#JusJoJan Daily Prompt / #SoCS – Jan. 28th/17 – Wood/Would

Day 2 of Linda’s #JusJoJan challenge, combined with her prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday and Just Jot It January is: “wood/would.” Use one, use both, use them any way you would like. Have fun!

How many woods would a woodcutter cut, if a woodcutter could cut wood?

That’s the first thing that came to mind when I read the prompt!

I love a good tongue twister, don’t you?

From the beginnings of discovering them, and trying to recite the Red Lorry Yellow Lorry one, to learning some Hindi ones, I have enjoyed them immensely!

Chandu ke chache ne Chandu ke Chachi ko chandni raat me chandi ke chamche se chatni chatai

Translated that means, loosely, Chandu’s uncle got Chandu’s aunty to lick chutney of a silver spoon on a moonlit night!

And there is one I remember seeing the great Amitabh Bachchan recite in a film, Kacha Papad Pakka Papad (Raw Poppadum Cooked Popaddum) while doing a little finger twister with it!

I had a couple of Tongue Twister books as a child which my mum kept, and I love to delve into them with my own kids too! They love to listen to them and try them out.

And I have on occasion, taken one of my books with me to school to share with all my students. Such fun!

Now, you wanna see a rather tired me reciting some of these twisters? ;}

I fear I look rather mad in this video!!! But hey, all in the name of the challenge!!!

#JusJoJan Daily Prompt – Jan. 27th/17 – Incomplete / #writephoto – Waiting

Day 27 of Linda’s #JusJoJan challenge!

The Just Jot It January 27th prompt, brought to you by Cyn of That Cynking Feeling is: “Incomplete.” Use it any way you’re inspired to. And make sure you stop by and say hi to Cyn as well! Here’s her blog:  https://cynk.wordpress.com/about/ .

And I am combining it with Sue’s great #writephoto challenge!

Her prompt photo is this.

waiting

And here is my effort! A limerick trio!

There was a young knight called Ted
Who appeared to have lost his head
Though incomplete
He was always upbeat
Because he was very well bred!

He waited for love to come
But alas for Ted there was none
When it came to a kiss
No head meant a miss
And away the ladies would run!

He tried to keep out of sight
Didn’t want to give people a fright
So he stood in a corner
Like Little Jack Horner
Even though it was rather tight!

#JusJoJan Daily Prompt – Jan. 26th/17 – Extraordinary

Day 26 on Linda’s #JusJoJan challenge… I can’t believe I’m still here! And Linda will be hosting for the rest of the challenge!

The Just Jot It January 26th prompt, brought to you by Kelli of Forty, c’est Fantastique! is: “Extraordinary.” Use it any way you’re inspired to. And make sure you stop by and say hi to Kelli as well! Here’s her blog:  https://fortyandfantastique.wordpress.com/ .

Something to ponder on today…

“We are all born extraordinary. It’s people, expectations and life that make us ordinary. So it’s up to us to do something to bring that extraordinary back.” – Ritu 2017

Each and every one of us is a miracle when we are born.

Yet life moulds us as we grow, to be like one another. To conform to the norm. If you are different, you are strange.

You are given targets to achieve, to reach normal progress levels at school. And the same goes at college, and work. You have these same invisible targets in life, as a parent and person. In order to be normal, like the others, you want to achieve at least them.

But why not give ourselves the chance to break the mould?

Ordinary is ok, average is normal.

Push yourselves that little bit more, where you see a strength.

You never know, you may achieve something extraordinary!

writespiration-2017

Sheesh! Who’d a thunk it?

Still, it was worth it. It was a great night!

The music was pumping, the people were dancing, the drinks were flowing.

Jeez, were they flowing… One hundred bottles of flowing!

No wonder my head hurts.

Just wake me when it’s all tidy!

Perks of hitting 100!

I only wish that if I hit that milestone, I can still party as hard! 😉

#JusJoJan Daily Prompt – Jan. 25th/17 – #OneLinerWednesday

As part of #JusJoJan, day 25, Linda has asked that we take part in her weekly One-Liner Wednesday Challenge!

The rules are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
4. Add our very cool badge to your post for extra exposure!
5. Have fun!

I’ll keep it simple today, as a one liner should be!

This for those out there who think teaching is a doddle…

“Those who can, do, those who can’t, need to learn!” – Ritu
